Okay, Xerath is fucking evil. He killed a lot babies, then burned mom and child at the same time. He killed the Emperor and then lied about it. Manipulated Nasus and Renekton. At the final, he also killed another Emperor, which is Azir.

I love it. He is evil but for purpose. He feels bad after Azir's speech.

I don't think it's that black and white.He was a slave in an empire where slaves were little more than animals that had the brain capacity to build and speak.However by pure luck and chance he is befriended by the emperor's son,the emperor's freaking son. That's a very high status and Azir seemed to actually care for the guy so to thank him Xerath becomes his right hand man and Azir promises his freedom. But even being Azir's closest ally he is still a slave,a person who's only purpose is to serve.So he does the only thing that can guarantee his freedom,he kills anyone who would oppose Azir and makes sure he's the one with absolute power.Hope and faith don't last forever and it's been years and Azir still hasn't kept his promise,the only way to free himself and others. So in exchange for freedom he has to kill Azir who in his eyes it now just a power-hungry,greedy,arrogant,self-centered dictator(although Xerath would not add the tator).No one cared about him other than Azir so why does he have to care.Killing children and women and the old emperor are just a means to an end for him. It's taken years of planning and murder to lead up to the final moment,back stabbing his best friend during his ascension he can't turn back now.Too little,too late.

I think Riot removed it because it was literally the plot of the first two Mummy movies. I don't think OG Riot knew League would be this big and alot of their old lore seems to be more of them showing what they loved not actually building their own universe.

I understand the change to be more unique.

As I said, Xerath was shocked when the ritual was over. He couldn't move and use anything, so Renekton and Nasus used this time! And no one believed to me.

Xerath was also extremely strong magus even when he was human.

Story is just perfect.

Hmmm I doubt it.

Shurima didn't go completly over night. The capital persihed, but around it some families tried to keep stuff working - which failed, because witht he polito-econimical center breaking away they were slithering right into a crisis. Now imagine one of those families that is on the verge of dieing out due to sickness, resulting in a child-empreror on the thorne. That has happened a lot in history btw.

However, the child is also on the verge of death. So they think: "Wait, don't we have a ritual of awesome immortality to prevent him from dying?". And then he died, but they were not giving up and tried to resurrect him with that, hoping that some tiny spark of life was still left in the dead flesh and bones.

However, the true knowledge of the ascension ritual is buried under tons of religious mumbo-jumbo, so it's a miracle they managed to recreate it SOMEHOW. A dead person in a bastardized ascension ritual... Amumu might be the first undead to have ever existed. Or at least some kind of "walking death", a massive anomaly of existence that causes everything he touches to die.

Also, however, there was a curse mentioned quite a lot in Xerath's (new) and Amumu's lore don't forget.

I'm thinking that IF Amumu was the baby, and he died, naturally he would be mummified as being royalty. Perhaps he was resurrected along with Shurima, being related by blood to Azir, maybe some magic shit happened almost how Azir was brought back by Sivir. OR the magic used to kill him wasn't fully effective on him due to some other unseen force, Harry Potter-esque. The mark of the dark spirits used to kill him could be his curse, forever stuck in a child's body. I dunno though I'm very excited for the next chapters.

I doubt there was anything left to mummify if I'm honest here. Xerath pretty much melted their flesh right of their bones. There wouldn't have been enough ash to fill a simple urn I guess...

I think it could be possible that Amumu was reanimated while Azir and Xerath still lived as humans. In both azir and xeraths new lore it mentions an incredible thunder storm and in amumu's lore it mentions a thunderstorm that apparently opened his tomb, if these are connected that would mean that amumu's tomb was discovered because of xerath and that amumu is probably older than azir including azir's years in death. That would probably also mean that amumu spent all those years in his tomb, which would explain why he is still alive after xerath destroyed everything, or luckily happened to be in it when it happened or left Shurima before its destruction happened.

Azir's story of watching his family disintegrate is pretty brutal. I love how after though he's like 'But how did my lineage survive' when moments earlier we read how he had concubines, whores, and bastard children. Did you not remember your own bastard children Azir? Even Robert Baratheon would visit his.

Well, the center of his civilization was just decimated along with everyone in it, and given that he probably didn't do a lot of whoring on the road it should be pretty safe to assume that milennia later all of his bloodline should have died already, if not even in the final moments of Shurima.

Also, he probably wasn't often aware of the women who he impregnated as they were likely all one night stands and then after their usefulness were basically cast aside and forgotten about. So really he could just be like "who the heck had my child and how did they survive the fall?" as opposed to "How did this happen?"

I don't see why he would do his whoring in the center of Shurima, it would make more sense to do it on the outskirts and on the road. It's kind of hard to guess when we don't know the legalization and the way Shurima views prostitution, bastards, and polygamy.

" Azir married and fathered numerous children, some by wedlock, others by ill-advised liaisons with slaves and harem girls." In the story we know his daughter and son who were birthed by his wife were the only ones by the Sun Disc with Azir. The word numerous however would definitely imply more then 2. Also knowing it was "ill-advised" we can guess that it would looked down upon if Azir was known to be having sex with mere slaves and whores. So this tells me there's a good chance Azir would visit brothels and the like while he was out on military tours, conquests, etc.

My post was meant more as a joke than anything though lol. Just by the sound of his story it seems like he was doing a lot of Shuriman ladies.

Just wanted to point out something for the writers. Multiple time throughout both Xerath and Azir's stories they use "Dias" instead of "Dais". Paragraphs 14 and 16 of Azir's backstory and paragraphs 14,16 and 18 of Xerath's. These mistakes happen in the first part of each story, the itallic part is correct and uses "Dais". I thought it was interesting to note. Hope this helps !

Conflicting feelings about them.

Well written, good atmosphere, have feels (dat Xerath final tears). I like how they showed us Xerath as a real Magus rather than just an evil right hand, I'm still wondering what he wants to do now because it's been kept in a really vague writing. I kinda imagine his imprisoning like "The Sound of Silence":
