The Strongest and Weakest champions in the Lore

So, everyone’s got their rankings as to how champions stack up in the lore, I figure I’ll give my own thoughts, if you want to read ‘em. Right now this power ranking system of mine has various tiers with titles of varying awesome throughout.

A few things before we start! Firstly, this is just my opinion, and how I’ve come to see the roster in terms of power levels. Secondly, power is a highly variable and hard to define quality, so look to my reasoning as to why certain champions are placed where they are; I rank Soraka very highly not because she could 1v1 anyone, but because of her immense healing power and astral affinity even without having the blessing of the stars. This also doesn’t mean these tiers are strict or that everyone in set tiers can trounce everyone below them; I wholeheartedly believe some of these champions I’ve listed could take on champions from the higher tiers, but it varies on a case by case basis.

Oh and a final thing: the listing of champions in tiers is alphabetical, and has no bearing on where they place within the tiers themselves.

Alright, now that I’ve cleared things up, on to the list!

WTF-Tier: Nagakabouros

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/c/ca/Bilgewater_Serpent.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150829165026

Nagakabouros is the bar that cannot be surpassed, for Nagakabouros is everything. Even though she’s not a champion in her own right I’m sticking her here above everybody else because this is my list and I’ll do whatever I damn well please with it.

S-Tier: Incomprehensible

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/b/b5/Bard_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150224224739

Beings of immeasurable power, beyond the scope of mortal comprehension. These beings are among the most powerful beings who have ever existed in the League of Legends universe (as far as we know). Humans who look upon them could only ever assume they were gods.

**For those who don’t care for the reasons: Bard, Kindred, Malphite

**Bard: ** We all know of Bard’s job; to steer all of creation from utter annihilation when it is threatened. That speaks volumes to his individual power, as if he wasn’t incredibly powerful he’d have been sacked by his employers long ago. Being what essentially amounts to universe-scope, dimension traversing secret agent nets you a pretty high spot in my power rankings. **Kindred: ** They’re death. Really that should be enough if an explanation. The incarnation of death itself. Runeterra’s grim reaper. Even if Kindred is effectively blindsided by undeath and resurrections, these are only temporary solutions. Also they’re omnipresent. That’s kind of huge in terms of power, because they defy the laws of time and space. **Malphite: ** I’m sticking him here because he’s a living mountain. You kinda don’t beat that. You just kinda die. He seems like he’d crush just about anybody in the League. There are some champions who’ve smashed in to mountains before, but those mountains couldn't fight back. Hear that Braum?! Malphite won't take any of that mountain punching bollocks!

A-Tier: Forces of Nature

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/1/17/Tahm_Kench_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150623213924

*Immensely powerful entities that have had a profound effect on the world. These champions are akin to a force of nature, with their raw power being untenable to oppose, at least from a mortal perspective. *

For those who don’t care for the reasons: Aatrox, Anivia, Brand, Nocturne, Tahm Kench, Vilemaw

**Aatrox: ** The darkin have always been as enigmatic as they come, and although whether they all fighting legends is debatable, Aatrox certainly made a case for himself long ago. His countless appearances across the ages have changed the course of human history, and you don’t do that without being someone of incredible power. That’s especially true when your method in doing all of this is via the art of war, **Anivia: ** I mentioned before that champions in this tier were like forces of nature, and Anivia is quite literally that. As the living embodiment of the entire Freljord she is a bringer of winter and one of the most powerful beings of Runeterra’s natural world. **Brand: ** Being a walking wickerman, and though we know little of Brand’s origins and true power, it’s always been hinted that he’s a world ending force. Of course Brand’s not without his sore points, as he spent a good many centuries imprisoned in a block of ice and is currently very physical, which in turn makes him quite vulnerable, but his sheer destructive power puts him head and shoulders above many other beings in Runeterra. **Nocturne: ** Nocturne’s weird because he’s one of those champions that aren’t canon right now because their current story is totally broken, but strangely also doesn’t really need it considering his mysterious nature. It makes judging his power levels a bit hard but the way he haunts nightmares he kinda lends himself to the idea of being a dream demon or something, who can bend the rules to suit his own needs. That could potentially make him all powerful within the scope of dreams, but again, it’s hard to judge. Either way my personal thoughts about Nocturne place him here. **Tahm Kench: ** The River King’s a being beyond the realm of the physical, being super ancient and mostly a malevolent presence more so than a fish man. We understand little about demons but given this one’s influence and river travelling abilities I’m putting him here. This isn’t down to his physical strength, but his influence as a being and the scope of his demonic abilities. **Vilemaw: ** What do you mean this is for champions only? This is my list, I’ll do what I want! Anyway so Vilemaw was portrayed as a god by Elise and is supremely more powerful in the lore than in the game. Given the Black Mist stuff he’s probably a corrupt guardian of nature, so I’d say he’s currently elevated to being much more powerful than he was in life. I’m sticking him here despite the fact he’s higher than Mordekaiser, the guy who would technically control him, purely because of his deathly powers. He’s still subservient to Morde despite this considering he’s trapped by the Mist and stuff. That’s my thoughts anyway.

B-Tier: Gods among Men

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/1/17/Renekton_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140904035156

*I suppose demigods might be a good name for these guys. They’re immortal, super strong, have immense reputations, but are still within the bounds of mortal comprehension. Unlike S-Tier where you have beings that warp the laws of reality, and A-Tier where they’re all the equivalent of forces of nature, these guys are more readily quantifiable and understandable from a mortal perspective. They exist on the threshold between the scope of what mortals can achieve through magical means and the totally weird and bonkers stuff of the upper tiers. *

For those who don’t care for the reasons: Azir, Baron Nashor, Karthus, Mordekaiser, Nasus, Rek’Sai, Renekton, Soraka, Xerath

**Azir: ** Azir’s power can’t be understated. Despite his ascension being fairly recent he raised the city of Shurima up from the dust and with it an army of sand soldiers numbering in the thousands. He has shown the ability to use sand to peer back in to the annals of history, and when you can use your powers for time related purposes, the limits of said power are potentially non existent. Coupled with the general perks of ascension Azir is a very mighty individual. Baron Nashor: As far as void monsters go, I’d put Baron Nashor as among the strongest that have ever graced the face of Runeterra, as far as we’ve seen. Given the way Summoner’s Rift is right now it stands to reason it’s his fault it’s all ruined, and I feel like there’s a strong case to be made that he could probably just decimate armies that get in his way. In my opinion Baron Nashor is the most powerful voidborn we’ve seen in the lore to date, and is one of League’s most powerful characters. **Karthus: ** Karthus interests me because he’s depicted as being supremely powerful, and considering he gave himself to the Black Mist and retained his mind and will speaks volumes to him as an individual. Given how he seems above the influences of Mordekaiser and is powerful by his own right, I’m putting him in this tier for now. This might change later though. **Mordekaiser: ** This dude raised an empire of iron and death that stretched across northern Valoran for centuries. His mastery of necromantic power lets him control the Black Mist, and by extension some of the very powerful beings that are just a tier below him on this list are essentially his servants. Mordekaiser is definitely worthy of respect and that’s why he’s here in this tier. **Nasus: ** Along with Renekton he is among the most ancient of the known Ascendants, but what makes him different from his brother is that Nasus actually embodies the power of Kindred; he siphons the essence of souls, he can age people, he summons spirit flames, and he’s even shaped like Wolf! I mean I know he’s a jackal but I can see Shurimans interpreting Wolf as a jackal instead of a wolf. **Rek’Sai: ** She’s here mostly because I reckon she’s a match for the Ascended, given her size, strength and ferocity. You don’t get to be a house sized monster and be a pushover, y’know? **Renekton: ** Renekton’s the most physically oriented of the Ascended, and I imagine many folks put him down because he lacks evident magical powers. I would counter in that in single combat, Renekton could take on any of the other Ascended and win. The fact that he is a physically oriented Ascendant speaks volumes to his physical prowess, and I honestly think that Renekton is the strongest champion in League in a physical sense who isn’t Malphite. **Soraka: ** Now given Soraka’s mortality and lack of fighting abilities, she’s certainly not going to beat anyone in this tier, or even the tier below, but her powers as a healer despite having lost the star’s blessing is still awe inspiring. Physically she’s probably among the weakest champions and would likely never win in a fight against any of them, but this list isn’t solely about how big your muscles are or the breadth of your destructive spells; it’s how strong you are, and such a concept is diverse and complex. If she was still within the grove I’d stick her in S-Tier. Xerath: The thing about Xerath is that in actuality, he’s probably worthy of S-Tier. Right now though he’s bound in a sarcophagus. Because of his current limitations he’s of comparable power to the other Ascended champions, and could fight any of them and win or lose given the breadth and raw power of his magic, but if he was free? He’d annihilate just about anyone. I’d personally put an unbound Xerath in S-Tier, and would rank him as being of comparable power to Bard, but that’s getting in to precarious head canon territory so I’ll keep my mouth shut.

C-Tier: Living Legends

http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/5/5f/Vel%27Koz_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140214194416

These folks have immense power at their disposal, and are far above mortals, but simultaneously are not beyond having glaring weaknesses or being beatable given the right conditions by people way below them in the power rankings.

For those who don’t care for the reasons: Cho’Gath, Hecarim, Kalista, Kayle, Lissandra, Maokai, Morgana, Nautilus, Rammus, Vel’Koz

Cho’Gath: The likelihood about Cho’Gath is that he’s considered by many to be fictional, mythical, something to scare the kids. His capacity for consumption and his raw size and physical strength put him among League’s strongest, but I personally don’t think he’s strong enough to be considered on the level of Rek’Sai, who I think is comparable to the Ascendants. As far as we know Cho’Gath’s new to Runeterra, so it’ll take him a few centuries to get to Rek’Sai’s level. **Hecarim: ** The Shadow of War is feared across the land for a reason; he’s a little unstoppable in terms of his raw strength. His Iron Order only helps him in this regard, as he commands spectral riders to take up arms with him but he’s not exactly a pushover without them. I mean think about that title; “Shadow of War”. The darkness left in the aftermath of war. Hecarim is that. **Kalista: ** Given her near omnipresence thanks to the Black Mist and her incredible aim with spears, I’ll give her this rank. She’s definitely not on the same level of Mordekaiser, but she could put up a good fight, that’s for damn sure. **Kayle: ** Kayle’s in a weird spot because she’s not canon at the moment. As a result I’m being conservative and respecting her old lore at the moment. I personally think she’s going to retain her otherwordly status in the new Runeterra, but as to how she ranks alongside other champions in terms of power I’m being careful in my estimations. Maybe she’s A-Tier, I dunno. For now I’m keeping her here. **Lissandra: ** The power the Frozen Watcher’s gave the iceborn was enormous, but Lissandra’s a cut above the rest. She has outlived just about every other iceborn, and was likely one of few magically inclined iceborn, given how the culture of Freljord’s always look across the different time periods. **Maokai: ** Maokai’s transformation left him warped and agonized, but he certainly is a powerful being. Given the fact he’s likely pretty big and has immense, albeit corrupted magical powers, I’d say he’s an easy fit for this tier. He has to be at least here if he wants to stand any chance against Mordekaiser! **Morgana: ** Same deal as with Kayle. Just playing it safe right now. **Nautilus: ** Given Naut’s immense size and destructive power, he easily makes it in to this list. The reason I didn’t put him higher is because in “A New Dawn” he got taken out by a falling stone pillar, which makes me question is durability despite his metallic body. Either way he’s still among the more powerful within this list. **Rammus: ** Another enigmatic champion that’s hard to estimate, but I like to imagine he was the first ascended being and his earthquake generating powers and sentience were a result of this. Head canon aside Rammus can GENERATE EARTHQUAKES. Out of nowhere. I’m putting him here solely because of that. **Vel’Koz: ** Vel’Koz’s ability to disintegrate anything with his Lifeform Disintegration Ray of Awesome automatically makes me want to put him here. He’d would turn most of League’s cast to dust given his powers, and I don’t personally see a lot of champions besting him, but he’s definitely not the strongest void monster we know of, considering Rek’Sai and Baron Nashor exist.

D-Tier: Pinnacle of Mortality

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/5/56/Skarner_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151016030450

These are the most powerful among the mortal beings Runeterra has to offer. They can be immensely powerful in their own right, but they are put here because there’s only so far that you can go before the whole being mortal bogs you down.

For those who don’t care for the reasons: Amumu, Jax, Mega Gnar, Shyvana, Skarner, Sion, Syndra, Veigar, Zac, Zilean

**Amumu: ** This is mostly down to the destructive power of his curse more than him personally. I might be giving the curse too much credit but given his apparent ability to endlessly cry despite having no bodily fluids and him destroying a town in one tantrum in “The Curse of the Sad Mummy”, I’m gonna stick to this. He doesn’t rank higher mostly because his body is likely as brittle as his wrappings and he wouldn’t last long in a fight with anything or anyone. Dragon It’s a dragon. Nuff’ said really. **Jax: ** If Jax was any lower in this list I reckon people would have my head. Even though we don’t know where he is or what he’s doing in the new lore, his reputation as being unbeatable even with a lamp post endures as making me believe he’s right at the top when it comes to physical fighters in Runeterra. He has a few worthy opponents around who’re a fair bit mortal, but he’s Jax. You don’t underestimate Jax., even though I would say he’d lose to Renekton pretty easily. **Mega Gnar: ** Before you ask, yes Mini-Gnar will also be included in the rankings. Mega Gnar was a bit of a pain to think on though though, mostly because there’s a big yordle asterisk on top of this. In the end I said screw it and just went straight off of what Mega Gnar’s got that makes him rank high; physical strength in spades. Rift Herald: It’s a huge, void mutated scuttlecrab. Oh you wanted further elaboration? Well he’s big, VERY big, has earth shattering power, and I reckon he’d probably he able to contend with the dragon on Summoner’s Rift. That’s my reasoning and I’m sticking to it. **Shyvana: ** This is a weird one for me. On the one hand she’s half human. On the other she’s half dragon. For now I’m leaning on the dragon side of her giving her human side the edge over the vast majority of competition, including folks in this tier. I would say she could have a decent go at Jax, even if he had a real weapon. **Skarner: ** I’m not sure where else you’d expect me to put a truck sized thousands of years old crystal scorpion. **Sion: ** Raised from the dead and having unparalleled physical strength, there are very few people who could hold a candle to Sion that aren’t just as crazy as he in terms of raw power. He’s not higher mostly because he’s not empowered like the undead of the Shadow Isles through the mists, and is essentially a re-animated corpse made a bit more durable through dark sorcery. He’s still the strongest man in Noxus though. **Syndra: ** People are gonna roast me for this one. “OMG WTF SYNDRA IS NOT WEAK” I can see it now! But yes I’m sticking her in rank D mainly because I’ve always seen Syndra as the apex of what a mortal mage could be in Runeterra. To go further she’d have to get some magical empowerment that would put her beyond being human. It’s not like she doesn’t have the potential to do that herself, but given her young age and unbridled lack of care for what she does, I don’t think she’s reached that potential just yet. Still powerful, but I reckon that most of the folks in the tiers above would slap her around like a rag doll. She’s got a long way to go. **Veigar: ** This’ll be another Syndra situation but the same applies; the apex of what a mortal mage can accomplish; he can probably go further, get stronger, but I don’t see him as that yet. I mean of all the champions in the game Veigar’s among those who actually have never been seen showing the breadth of their potential in the lore itself; he didn’t exactly use those cosmic corrupting powers to steal the Mothership y’know? On that note, I do wanna see what he’s like in the new setting and just how powerful he really is. **Zac: ** You’re probably wondering what the sod I’m doing with this list now, but I have my reasons! It mostly boils down to Zac’s biology being able to withstand things most mortals can’t; he can stretch and be broken in to pieces but still reform, he can probably endure the harshest of climates known to man and unknown to man, I’d say he’s got an inherent advantage going in to any fight. Not to say he won’t win every fight, even with people lower in the list, but he’s got a ton of tools to help him overcome adversity which kinda just beat out raw mortal strengths like endurance and willpower most of the time. And he has those things too. **Zilean: ** I find Zilean hard to judge, because I don’t even understand where his powers come from. Is it magic? Technology? Both? Does he make this stuff happen naturally? He’s a big question mark for me. I’m sticking him here for safety considering the whole time magic deal.

E-Tier: Mortal Potential

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/d/d4/Trundle_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130501083513

While these guys aren’t the absolute apex of what mortals can hope to achieve, they are among the highest caliber of mortals around. There’s something about these guys that distinguishes them from the super humans of the world that makes these guys super human and the guys below a bit more tame in comparison. This is sort of the “Anything you can do I can do better” group for the F-Tier down below; all of these guys are comparable, but the folks in the E-Tier have something that makes them pull ahead in the power race for me.

For those who don’t care for the reasons: Alistar, Braum, Diana, Galio, Illaoi, Irelia, Karma, Kassadin, LeBlanc, Leona, Malzahar, Master Yi, Poppy, Olaf, Ryze, Sejuani, Shen, Swain, Thresh, Trundle, Tryndamere, Udyr, Varus, Volibear, Willump, Yorick, Zed, Zyra

**Alistar: ** Not sure how he stacks up with other minotaurs, but his indomitable will power is what makes him stand out. **Braum: ** While Braum has been reputed to bust through a mountain, such tales can be a bit exaggerated. I don’t wanna take anything away from Braum, and I do consider him to be among the strongest of the strong humans in League, potentially even THE strongest, or at the very least a contender for first. **Diana: ** Given the fact she’s of the tribes of Mount Targon and the chosen of the moon, it stands to reason she’s immensely powerful as an individual. While I personally don’t think she’s comparable to some of the other Targonians in terms of raw physical prowess, her moon magic more than makes up for it. Galio: Magical constructs are generally pretty powerful, and being sentient only gets you bonus points. Illaoi: Illaoi in this instance is carried by the power of Nagakabouros. If she didn’t have it I’d drop her down to the next tier. **Irelia: ** Irelia’s telekinetic powers give her the edge over other contenders here, and other than that she’s always been a powerful warrior in her own right. **Karma: ** I’m not one to sniff at power that comes inherently from the strength of one’s own spirit, so I’m sticking Karma here. I personally value the power of manifesting one’s own soul to use as a weapon very highly. Kassadin: Void empowerment takes him over the edge here. **LeBlanc: ** LeBlanc’s here more for the extent and power of her magic more so than anything else, but not just because of her ability to fight and kill with said magic; LeBlanc’s deceptive talents have proven to be formidable in the past, and though I personally find such things distasteful (Not a fan of sneaky buggers), I can’t deny that she’s pretty damn formidable. **Leona: ** Same boat as Diana really, but perhaps a bit more so because she was originally Rakkorian. I put her higher than Diana personally even though they’re in the same tier for me. **Malzahar: ** Same as Kassadin, but where as Kassadin’s also a bit muscled, Malz has way more crazy void powers to call upon. Master Yi: Wuju. Wuju carries Yi here. That’s really all I need to say at this point. **Pantheon: ** Pantheon does not skip leg day and his Skyfall shows it. The physique required to pull off a move like this is nothing short of mind boggling for any more or less ordinary human. **Poppy: ** She’s strong in her own right, but it’s the hammer that helps her realise her potential. I put her as being substantially more powerful than any other Demacian bar Shyvana, because she’s got the whole dragon’s blood thing going on. As a side note I personally think Poppy and Veigar are quite close in terms of power levels, and that really they’re the only yordles capable of matching each other. **Olaf: ** Relentless, ruthless, unkillable berserker. Need I say more? Oh you want an actual reason as to why he’s not F-tier, gotcha. Basically it’s because he embodies the “Anything you can kill I can kill better” mentality. He fights harder, kills harder, does everything harder basically, and does it all as Pantheon does; by his strength of body. No magic, no tricks, just pure muscle, stamina and will power. **Ryze: ** He’s got incredible physique but is also a master of the arcane. While he’s not Runeterra’s strongest mage he’s a cut above the majority and is well deserving of recognition. **Sejuani: ** Iceborn heritage helps out here but regardless of it Sejuani’s still a bad ass. Mount riding aside she’s probably one of the strongest women in the Freljord. **Shen: ** I originally had Shen down a tier, but then his rework happened and like I said for Karma, I value the ability to manifest power via one’s very soul quite highly, I mean he can manifest his father’s sword in a spritual form, use it to guard allies within, teleport around and shield himself from harm, all with the power of his soul. That’s pretty powerful in my book. **Swain: ** He’s mostly carried by his weird maybe demon magic but extra points are given for his cunning and intelligence. He’s the Grand General for a reason. **Thresh: ** While Thresh is of the Shadow Isles he doesn’t exhibit much in the way of special powers; he kinda picks up the pieces in the wake of Harrowings. He’s still a ruthless murderer, but he’s much less remarkable than the other infamous undead because he lacks in the ability fight in a physical or magical manner that is substantially stronger than some of the folks in this list. **Trundle: ** Troll strength coupled with true ice and ice manipulation makes Trundle a powerhouse in my book. **Tryndamere: ** His undying rage is indeed a thing. Probably won’t help him against a stray bullet right through his skull, but the amount of adrenaline you need to push on like Tryndamere does would probably kill most people. He earns a spot here because of that. **Udyr: ** Udyr’s as strong as a good number of warriors in the list, but to be in this section you can’t just be a good fighter. Thankfully Udyr’s spiritual empowerment is more than enough to carry him. **Varus: ** I’m putting him here because of the powers he has gained from the power of the pit, as well as his own skills as an archer. It makes for a deadly combo that is hard to match. **Volibear: ** This is like a Trundle case for me; Volibear’s got that ursine biology helping him in the strength department, and is also lightning empowered. People don’t do well with lightning. **Willump: ** Bet you weren’t expecting me to include this guy! Well yes I’m putting Willump here, mostly because of his beastial strength coupled with his own yeti magic. **Yorick: ** Yorick’s not as much empowered by the black mist, it’s more like he’s just along for the ride. Regardless his physique makes for a good sign of his strength, which the mist would only enhance for him. He may be a simple gravedigger but he’ll beat yer sodding head in! Zed: Zed may not beat any of the folks in this tier straight up, but that’s not what Zed’s about. He’s here because his mastery of the shadows and forbidden techniques along with his speed, agility and other peak physical attributes makes him, in my eyes, the most deadly ninja currently alive that we know about. **Zyra: ** See Zyra’s weird to me because she’s essentially plant + magic. I’m putting her here because I think in the right environment she can be close to force of nature levels of strength and ability, but given we haven’t actually seen her showcase her abilities in the lore I’m dubious as to where she truly stands.

F-Tier: Remarkable Mortals

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/e/ec/Nami_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20121130222224

F-Tier and E-Tier are really close in my eyes in regards to how strong they are. The main difference for me is that the E-Tier guys and gals have something that pushes them over the edge to make them that much stronger, even if they’re still comparable to the folks in F-Tier. I’ve got nothing but love for everyone in F-Tier (Except Riven, because sod Riven), and it’s not that these champions are weak or anything, it’s that the E-Tier guys are just that little bit higher that they deserve their own rank.

**Ahri: ** She gets to be here because of a combination of the following: soul magic, fox instincts and fox reflexes in a human body. Like I said before, I value soul magic stuff very highly. **Akali: ** Like Pantheon, Akali doesn’t skip leg day, but despite that she lacks that extra something to push her over the top. She’s definitely comparable though, as I will constantly have to repeat. If she ever gets VU’d and her smoke bomb becomes an actual shadow technique like Zed’s I’ll bump her up a rank in a heart beat. **Ashe: ** Like Sejuani, Ashe has iceborn heritage to thank for some of her strength, and is an incredible sharp shooter, and has a true ice weapon with all the benefits, but she lacks in the physical department enough so that I don’t think she’s E-Tier material. She wouldn’t win an arm wrestle with Sejuani, if y’know what I mean. **Bristle: ** Bristle’s a giant boar. I think he can handle himself, and can beat some champions on his own. **Cassiopeia: ** Cassiopeia’s weird to gauge because how she became as she is now is up for debate; did she really just transform via tomb guardian bite or was something else involved, namely Xerath? Sod if I know but for now I’m putting her here because the whole petrify thing feels like it’s pretty powerful y’know? **Darius: ** Darius is the peak of a Noxian soldier’s condition. He’s the man you want to aspire to be in Noxus, with a keen mind and overwhelming strength. Unfortunately he’s surpassed by champions with greater strength who are that strong without tricks like Pantheon and Olaf, which is the main reason why he’s here. He could have a good shot at straight up killing them in a fight thanks to his intelligence and personal strength, but I don’t think he’d win the 1v1. He’d put up an awesome fight, but wouldn’t come out the victor in the end just muscle vs muscle. Draven: Draven’s here mostly because of the strength, stamina and agility he must have to fight like he does. Throwing axes are an expendable weapon, but Draven takes the time to catch them and reuse them, speaking volumes about his physical condition. Also his brother being Darius helps to sell him as just being at least comparable. Dr. Mundo: He’s a man on steroids to the extreme. I feel like these experimentations alone make him worthy of this spot. **Elise: ** Elise is totally carried by her spider magic here, without a shadow of a doubt. That’s actually the only reason she’s here. Oh and her being partially undead or whatever helps sell her case. **Fiora: ** Peak physical condition, expert poise, brilliant mind, a wonder to behold in battle. The main reason she’s not higher is because, like many others here in E-Tier, she lacks that extra bit to make her that much more epic. She’s still epic, but just a little shy of what I think she could be. **Garen: ** If you read the Darius section, just use that as a reference for Garen, but using more DEMACIA. **Gragas: ** As a man of the Freljord he stands much higher than others in terms of physical strength just by the virtue of being a Freljordian, but he lacks the special edge that other warriors in the tier above have that distinguishes themselves. Gragas only really has his beer, which is fine but it’s not really helping him facilitate much, even if it is True Ice empowered. **Janna: ** There’s very little Janna lore to go on at the moment, but as someone who’s main for over eight years in WoW has been a Shaman, I highly value elemental magic and what it can do. Thus she’s here. **Jarvan IV: ** Making impact craters is a pretty stellar feat for such a short jump when compared to some of our other olympic athletes, but Jarvan’s in the same boat as Garen and Darius for me; missing that little bit extra to be on a higher tier. **Jayce: ** Jayce can wield that unwieldy hammer with ease and does mid air flips with it. Not only that but he’s quite the scientist. He’s probably not Garen material but hey, he’s pretty great. I still like Viktor more though. **Katarina: ** Almost at the peak of human athleticism and incredibly deadly with bladed weapons, I figure she’s best suited for this spot. **Kennen: ** If Kennen had the physical prowess of Akali along with his own powers he’d be E-Tier straight away. As it stands he’s way more about utilising that electricity in conjunction with speed and doesn’t rely on conventional ninja techniques. As such he’s staying here. **Kha’Zix: ** Debated whether I should put Kha’Zix up higher, but in the end I trended towards the idea that Kha’Zix would like it better here, as he’s all about adapting and stuff. In essence he’s here because it’s ideal for him to be here **Kog’Maw: ** Kog’maw’s here more so because he’s substantially more dangerous than he looks, and I’m more than willing to say he’d easily kill a large number of champions, even in his baby like state. **Lee Sin: ** An incredible man to have surpassed his own physical disabilities, that speaks volumes to his willpower and individual strength. I don’t think he’s as strong physically as some other champions, but he certainly packs a whallop, and I can’t even imagine how hard it must’ve been for him to be able to learn how to use sound to see things. **Lucian: ** Carried by his athleticism and the power of his guns. I value his guns more than others because his are magic in a way that’s vastly different to hextech and has a more critical application; the purifying of monsterish aberrations. Don’t think other guns are gonna cut it there. **Lux: ** Carried by her sorcery, and gets bonus points for her reckon work in the past. I figure she’s also way more physically capable than her slender frame would indicate her to be. **Nami: ** Nami’s here mainly because she has all of the strengths of being a mermaid, and can use her magic to effectively walk on land in addition to using her powerful water magic. Summoning tidal waves is no joke people! **Nidalee: ** Nidalee embodies the strength of a cougar in both her human and cougar forms, and given how resilient you have to be to live out in the jungle, I think she’s deserving of being this rank. **Quinn: ** This all comes down to Quinn’s agility, speed, skill with a crossbow and skill as a ranger. Jarvan trusts her for a reason. **Rengar: ** Rengar’s hard to judge for me because he’s a cat man who hunts beasts. There’s little to compare him with, but of course, there’s Kha’Zix. As such I’m lumping him in with Kha’Zix. **Riven: ** I think everything I said about Darius can apply to Riven in some way; intelligent, strong, a good contender to beat a lot of stronger people, but she lacks that little push over the edge to make her E-Tier in my eyes. **Shaco: ** Shaco doesn’t get in to this tier because of raw strength and power, but because of his mysterious abilities and clever deception. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was underestimating him at this point. **Talon: ** Same deal as with Katarina. Dunno who of the two of them would win in a fight though. Urgot: Urgot’s effectively a dead man walking, with his Hextech keeping him going. Thinking about this for a while I personally think that Urgot is, of all the champions who utilise Hextech in some way, the strongest out of all of them, solely because he has always been a warrior and even though he is more dependant on that Hextech than any of them, he has been built in to a weapon. Urgot has crippling weaknesses to him that could be exploited by some opponents, but I feel his physical and techmaturgical condition puts him high up in the eschelons of human strength to at least be comparable to the more organically remarkable folks. **Vi: ** Carried almost entirely by her Hextech Gauntlets and the fact that, despite her slender frame, she can lift those things at all. **Viktor: ** An example of the potential of Hextech in current times, though as we’ve seen with Battlecast skins, even higher peaks are possible. I feel like Viktor’s definitely able to duke it out with anyone in this tier. **Vladimir: ** He controls blood. That’s kind of a big deal. Plus he was also a key part in Sion’s second “resurrection”. I think that’s pretty cool. **Warwick: ** When you mesh together two things you can get an explosive combination, and Warwick is that combination. Can’t deny those canine instincts and his sheer physical strength from being what is effectively a mutant. **Wukong: ** Wukong’s a weird one. Again that’s little to go on via power because he has had very little in the way of lore, I mean hell how do we explain the extendable staff in the new lore, other than a nod to Sun Wukong? I’m putting him here mostly because of the weight I put on his abilities as we see them; having a stone body, being able to make a clone of himself and being able to extend that staff to ridiculous lengths. **Xin Zhao: ** A one man army indeed, even though I think folks like Sejuani and Olaf would pound him in to the sodding ground. Regardless I can’t ignore his abilities as shown in the arena, and thus he stands with folks like Jarvan and Garen among the elite of Demacian soldiers. **Yasuo: ** The only person in years to have mastered the wind blade technique, to the point where this gets him framed for murder. I feel this puts him pretty highly on the list of strong people, even though he’s in the next to bottom tier. He’s good at being a wind samurai, is what I’m saying, so he’s here.

G-Tier: Renowned Mortals

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/7/7b/Caitlyn_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140703064048

These champions stand tall and proud not because they’re super strong or powerful, but because of what they’ve achieved or their uniqueness as an individual. The human champions here are among the more ordinary of people in the roster; you could imagine someone of similar reputation in real life as celebrities. Course that doesn’t help you here, because the kind of power they have in spades is not the power I’m interested in ranking.

**Annie: ** People are going to wonder what I’m even doing, but then again if you’ve got this far you’ve probably asked that many a time before this. Annie has powerful magic and great potential, but that’s it. She’s still pre-teen and is effectively as vulnerable as any child. Hell even Tibbers isn’t that scary; he’s a bear that’s on fire. When she grows up Annie could be a contender for being the strongest mortal mage around, but right now she’s not even close as far as I can see. **Blitzcrank: ** Relies entirely on the utility functions he was built with to fight, and was never built to fight. He’s as ordinarily human as robots come, despite the extraordinary sentience that he exhibits. He’s not lower mostly because I personally value his physical constitution and how much it can probably endure. **Caitlyn: ** She’s the best sniper around and a chief of police to boot, but physically she’s pretty ordinary comparatively to other champions. Saying that she’s likely way above the average for humans and likely works out, but she’s renowned for her position and skills as a police officer/detective, not her fighting prowess. **Corki: ** Entirely carried by his plane and his age doesn’t help him in any regard. He can still do amazing things with his plane, but I personally don’t think the years have been kind in this case. **Gangplank: ** The power Gangplank had as the Reaver King was in his titles; it was the influence he had as an individual. Of course that’s not the power I’m looking at right now, and as such I’m judging him based on other factors, such as his strong physique coupled with a bit of a big belly. It’s not the end of the world, as Gangplank’s more than the sum of his skin and bones; this is simply how I’m quantifying power for the sake of this list. **Graves: ** Carried entirely by his strong physique, hextech shotgun and personal grit. He’s probably comparable to Gangplank in that sense. **Heimerdinger: ** Heimerdinger’s got the brains, but age works against him in this case. While he can tinker and invent with the best of them his individual power through strength and magic won’t really be that high, even if he has that latent yordle magic. The thing that puts him above the rest is his ability to use his magic to make such marvels of yordle technology. **Jhin: ** Sorry Jhin, while I'lI give you credit for having potentially one of the most powerful Hextech weapons to be wielded by an individual in the whole world, but I personally don’t put you much higher than other folks with Hextech. **Miss Fortune: ** Miss Fortune’s in the same boat as Gangplank and Graves; fairly standard in terms of physique, and more carried by the weight of their character and influence. Rumble: Looking at the folks I’ve included here, Rumble and Tristy would probably have a good shot at just beating everyone in this tier. Of course while Tristy’s is a marvel of yordle technology and magic, she’s still a bit defective, cumbersome and patchwork. While he could certainly fight humans with such a mech he’d struggle against folks higher in these tiers of mine. Super Galaxy Rumble would rank in the tier above at the very least. **Singed: ** Singed has an iron body because of his exposure to nasty chemicals, but other than that he doesn’t display much else in the way of physical or magic strength. He can throw other people around sure, but other than that he doesn’t do much and is also kinda lanky. **Sivir: ** Carried by her athleticism and throwing arm, notable for her reputation and legacy as heir to the Shuriman throne, but not all that remarkable physically or magically beyond that. **Teemo: ** Small, quick, highly intelligent, but mostly ordinary. He relies on ambush to get the job done and would struggle in a fight with most humans if he had to fight straight up. That’s not to say he’s weak, but his strengths as an individual don’t get him many points in this ranking. I actually debated about putting him lower but the potential for yordle magic created toxins and mushrooms makes me wanna stick him here instead. **Tristana: ** Athletic sure, but other than that all of what she does is focused around Boomer. She’s renowned for her daring and courage, not for her ability to punch people in the face, and while her yordle magic likely helps her utilise Boomer even better than a human would, she’s still a squishy little yordle lass. The cannon only gets you so far hun. **Twisted Fate: ** He’s probably pretty fit, but comparable to ordinary people, and his card magic is highly specific and only has certain functions. **Vayne: ** Carried by her athleticism and gear. Not much else to say honestly. **Ziggs: ** I kinda feel bad about putting so many yordles at the bottom tier. Yeah bombs are cool but there’s not much else going on with Ziggs. Brilliant mind, not to brilliant in the power department, especially considering his primary weapon is expendable and is something he needs to make himself.

H-Tier: Notable Mortals

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/9/9e/Sona_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130303010655

These champions aren’t physically remarkable in ways that make them stand alongside their peers or even make them comparable to ordinary people. They’re in the roster for some other reason than them being a physically or magically powerful individual. That’s not to say these champions would flat out lose in a fight, but these guys generally aren’t folks who would fight in more traditional means, or utilise their powers in ways not suited for combat.

**Beatrice: ** We know sod all about Beatrice other than she’s bad news. I’m sticking her here because even though we know sod all about her, she’s still worth mentioning and noting as an entity. **Ekko: ** Age is the big factor here; he’s too young to be comparable to the majority of other champions. One hit from the Vigilnaut in “Seconds” was enough to require a rewind. Still has his prodigal mind and good reflexes on him, but he’s definitely way closer to ordinary human power than most, because for all intents and purposes he is pretty normal, carried entirely by hextech. **Ezreal: ** Despite having latent magic he’s carried entirely by that amulet. He’s probably fit for someone in his late teens but regardless he’s still a human in his late teens. I personally don’t think his amulet carries him very hard at all, even though that’s what carries him in terms of strength. **Fizz: ** Carried entirely by his athleticism, which lets him dance around opponents. His magic tridents also helps but he’s not very strong physically and isn’t going to win many fights. Fizz is notable mostly because he’s one of a kind, even way more so now considering the mysterious disappearance of his people. Gnar: In yordle years he’s four. He’s actually very athletic despite this but he’s still a effectively four years old, even though four years probably equates to something like eight human years at this point. **Jinx: ** Arguably the physically weakest adult human in the entire roster. She’s not exactly got much meat on her. Her strength comes from her ability to wield those hextech guns, which she does extremely well. She’s noteworthy as an individual because of her reputation as a criminal. **Lulu: ** Lulu’s here because I don’t think her magic as it stands is all that powerful when compared to just about anyone else. Not to mention the fact that she’s among the least physically oriented yordles around. When compared to Tristana and Poppy, she’s way behind in that sense. Lulu’s notable because of her unusual magic and strange disappearance. **Orianna: ** She wasn’t built to fight, at least she likely wasn’t in the new canon. She’s carried by the power the Ball has within it, and her ability to command it, but it’s abilities and destructive capabilities have yet to be showcased in the lore, so for now she stands here at the bottom. She’s notable because she’s among the few hextech beings that exist. **Sona: ** See, this one makes me sad because I absolutely adore Sona as a character, but I don’t think she’s all that powerful as an individual. Sona is an exceptionally talented musician, and perhaps one of the greatest Runeterra has ever seen, but in terms of power she’s sorely lacking. It all comes from the etwahl and that power is limited in what it can do. The reason she’s a notable person is because of that musical expertise, being effectively like the Beethoven of her time. **Twitch: ** So Twitch is a human sized rat. You’d think that’s worth a mention higher u; but in reality he’s still probably weaker physically than most humans, has no magic to speak of, and is entirely reliant on being an ambush predator. Not to mention his insanity is more along the lines of actually being mentally handicapped rather than having lost his mind. That in itself makes his existence that much harder. He’s notable because he’s effectively an urban legend in Zaun. **Valor: ** Way stronger, more capable and intelligent than most birds of his size you’ll ever see, but he’s still just one eagle.

N-Tier: Nunu.

http://static.lolskill.net/img/skins/1215/nunu_0.jpg

Nunu is the single weakest champion in the game; he’s a pre-teen who throws snowballs. He’s entirely carried by Willump in game, and while he has the potential to grow in to a strong fighter later, right now he is literally a child in a battlefield. Without Willump he’d easily be killed and provides little if Willump isn’t there in any endeavour. Sorry Nunu, but it's the truth!

To clarify if you skipped or didn't see: this is NUNU. Not WILLUMP. Willump's up higher in the tiers. This is for Nunu on his own. Because I'm a cruel bastard like that.

asdfghjkl-Tier: I don’t even know.

*I just don’t know with these guys. Too little lore to go on right now for me to properly figure them out in terms of power rankings. I feel like it’d be just too much hassle to guess considering how little there is about them in the lore right now. When they get more details about them revealed and re-written lores, I’ll look at ‘em again. *

Evelynn Fiddlesticks Taric

And that’s that. All the stuff? Like it? Hate it? Think I’m a sodding moron? Well regardless this is how I see power rankings in League working. Hope it was at least somewhat of an interesting read.

You took the time to go through every champion, weigh their merits, and explain your reasoning, which is more than enough to get a thumbs up from me. Well done, Sharjo!

I'm sure not everyone agrees, because pleasing everyone is impossible, but I feel that you have categorized champions to the best of your ability.

######Hurray for Veigar being the most powerful of Yordles!

Ebonmaw Dragon2/7/2016, 5:05:44 PM27 votes

Wait, did you put Vilemaw, Dragon and Baron?

Where is Ebonmaw!

I should be a tier higher than Dragon, just because i have a cool name.

The Whamboozler2/7/2016, 4:16:56 PM20 votes

Silly OP. Don't you know there isn't lore anymore?

That said, strongest champ in the game's lore is debatable, but the weakest is likely one of the adcs. They're just schmucks with guns and no powers OR real fighting prowess... at least they can't really take a hit. Even nunu throws MAGIC snowballs and rides a yeti. He's pretty crap though too, I will give you that.

sgtcarrotop2/7/2016, 6:55:07 PM19 votes

Just to clarify Fiddlesticks, Nocturne , and Shaco all come from the same "world" so to speak. Back when League had lore, and Summoners existed "summoning" things from other worlds, these three are considered to be manifestations of that crazy chaotic realm from which they spawned. Just like in how the original lore Malphite was summoned from a world of peace and serenity with nature.

Any way these three Jungling demons are "supposedly" the conceptual manifestations of three types of fears from their chaotic world. Fiddlesticks represents the fear of death and carrion. Nocturne represents the fear of darkness, and paranoia. Shaco represents the fear of madness, and slaughter. (Can't spell slaughter without laughter)

So basically these guys being metaphysical concepts given form they are more or less in the Incomprehensible tier. Even if you can kill them physically you can't kill the source of their being. Fear.

Warwick

"He traveled to Ionia to trap Soraka, a creature believed to be a child of the stars, but she discovered his ploy and drove him away with powerful magic."

He got 1v1ed by Soraka bro.

Greenjey2/7/2016, 4:38:38 PM11 votes

interessing list, really cool to read. But Khazix and Rengar deserve to be in a highter tier.

Kha'zix, pretty much, have an unlimited potential because he grows stronger the more he eat people, he can evolve to surpass anything (he started in runeterra as a larva).

Rengar don't have that much potential but he is still (as far as i know) the only living creature who survived a one on one fight against a void monster without using anything but his raw strenght, he also hunted the most powerfull creatures among runeterra (in his headhunter splash art he even have the skull of VileMaw on his shoulder as a trophy)

Meep Man2/7/2016, 8:24:27 PM10 votes

A special note that Bard isn't just that being that we play as in game. It has been said by Riot that Bard is a higher up being similar to old "Tentacle God of the Sea", it's just he has a form that can be banished, similar to how we can kill Tentacle God's tentacles.

Also, that picture isn't Tentacle God (Nagakeywhatever). It's the Bearded Lady, a serpent worshipped due to it's size and strength. Not sure if they are related, but I dont remember any connection. Anyways, the main point here is Bard should be on the WTF-Tier since he essentially is an omnipresent force of the universe that can change and interact with it through his vessel (and that might not be his only vessel, might just be the one specifically made for Valoran).

SwapShadows2/7/2016, 5:19:47 PM9 votes

I wouldnt rank kindred highly at all

no one important dies so she's just killing/taking noobs.

Ironclad Dragon2/7/2016, 6:48:43 PM9 votes

I think people kind of overestimate Nagakabouros. Illaoi holds it as a god, yet what has it got to show for being a "god"? A god is really just any subject of worship; it doesn't make them omnipotent.

Fasmodey2/7/2016, 4:40:29 PM8 votes

I dont think Nagakabouros is the most powerful being we saw in LoL. That's what Illaoi believes.

Anyway, nice list. A lot effort. Upvoted.

Streetlight Man2/7/2016, 4:51:35 PM8 votes

I love it. My only real problem is the section about annie.

I'd be fucking scared of a bear on fire

SrirachaLimes2/7/2016, 9:29:48 PM7 votes

I think Malphite shouldn't be considered incomprehensible. He's merely a shard of the monolith, definitely not some higher entity like Bard.

I also feel like some of the void was a little to low, since I do consider it to be the strongest faction, but overall good list.

HayRoss2/7/2016, 4:44:07 PM6 votes

Gragas is just a fat drunk, he should be lower than Nunu

If 9 she is mine2/7/2016, 10:59:55 PM3 votes

well since you are using characters that aren't in the game or can't be played etc. then the strongest being in League is The Lord the God of Israel
