So about Vi and her Gauntlets

I used to follow the lore somewhat but it's been retconned so many times over the years that im not sure what champion is in detail anymore.

In the newest video we see Vi take off her gauntlets and she can still punch hard enough to take Urgot out.

So, why does she need the gauntlets if she can do the same without them?

Because flesh is soft and bones are fragile. You try punching steel bare handed then guess why Vi wears gauntlets.

Edit: Also she's a street brawler, it's not hard to knock anyone out of you know how to punch. Vi just hit him in the right spot.

Because her gauntlets are there to amplify her strength. She is still very competent in close combat without them, but having them just makes her way more efficient at it.

Because blocking bullets&impaler drills with your bare hands is not smart.

I mean, it´s much nice to just toss your oversized gauntlet rather than having to cut off your arm to escape if caught.

its just because the heroes always have to win in these cinematics, annoying as it is

Yeah, considering how big Urgot is and the fact that most of him is made of metal, that punch shouldn't have knocked him back so much.

She doesn't need the gauntlets to punch others, but they certainly help.

They can be used to block weapons that would rip through her hands, they make her hit even harder and they also give her a certain boost in agility(you could even see in the movie how she basically used her Q to catapult herself into the enemey).

And to be fair, we only see how Vi punches Urgot, we don't know if this punch even knocked him out.
