Duel/Fighting Art

So how does 1v1 fencing duels work exactly in Demacia? I assume it's similar to the real world stuff? I was watching count of monte cristo and saw a few fencing fights that ended with opponent A thrusting in their rapier/sabre inside the chest of opponent B and that was it, that was the end of the match and opponent A just walked away while opponent B was still grasping their chest with their hands while slowly falling to their knees and then dropping flat dead. Is this similar to the fencing duels that occur in Demacia as well? Or is it a different type of battle art?
