Another Varus post...

I really like the concept that Varus could turn out to be a Darkin, a counter argument a lot of people point out is that Varus' current lore, his bow isn't the source of his corruption, it's some other power that he was protecting. Except from his splash and model you can see that his weapon in fact is also affected by this corrupt power. Why might this be... well we know for a fact that Darkin's were sealed into their respective weapons (not 100% official we'll have confirmation once Kayn's lore is released maybe, going of off voice lines for now) so I believe, Varus' new lore may not change all that much, maybe not at all, but I wanna put forward the theory that 'the corruption' was a Darkin, and Varus, sealed this Darkin in his bow that day in the temple and now it is slowly taking him over.

I haven't seen this theory from anyone else, but I am sure there are others that thought this up too, but at least this is one place we can come back a year or so later and say hey, we were right!

An interesting take on this. Aatrox would be the Darkin that took over his human, and varus would be the opposite, namely a man who dominated (or partially dominated) the Darkin. Maybe it lays dormant or is more subtle in doing his takeover, like your theory suggests. In any case, Kayne is the living proof that it's possible to resist the Darkin takeover. Hopefully the color text gives us some answers!

His bow is confirmed darkin.
