Could the Darkin be Brackern???

In another thread I was theory crafting that Zaun could be cursed due to the crystals they're mining. It led to me mentioning how both use crystals to power their weapons (The Hextech Capacitor, and the Z-Drive). The way the Brackern biology works is that when one dies its body forms a crystal that is absorbed into the desert. The crystal then "calls out" to attract young Brackern, where they will fuse. The young Brackern gains a armored body as well as all the memories and wisdom of the previous Brackern. We know that young Brackern who do not find a crystal die early. From the lore of we know that the crystals retain their sentience and can sing/call out. My theory is that when a crystal does not find a suitable host it becomes corrupted. The magic turns bad and the sentience inside becomes evil. The longer without a host, the more corrupted it becomes until eventually... the crystal becomes a darkin. Eventually when someone discovered the crystal it takes over the hosts body. Crystals have the ability to augment human tools and super power them. Maybe this was well known since ancient times hence why things like bow, Scythe, sword exist in the first place. The crystals fuse to the weapon, and then eventually fuse to its wielder until you got shit like running around. I am not saying it is entirely likely, the Darkin may just be a separate race that share some similarities to the Brackern (longevity, need of a "host" to survive, sentience from inorganic materials). What do you think?
