"Kill my self" is acceptable?

I guess so. Had my first game in like 2 months and did less than stellar. Unfortunately I was versus a diamond smurf streaming on twitch and didn't realize it. As if that wasn't shitty enough the constant flame from my allies, and being told that I made them want to kill themselves, felt even worse. Obviously I got upset, didn't break any TOS but I was certainly less than friendly. I did mute them, but the thing about flame is the damage was done. Lost complete interest in trying to turn it around. Once I got to post game lobby I reported, expecting instant feedback since their insults involved self harm. Apparently that wasn't enough to trigger the system, as I checked OP.gg and they've still been able to play and continue their toxic behavior. That particular insult hit a bit too close to home and I am less than satisfied with the lack of action from Riot. If I had expressed my hurt in verbal retaliation I would have been punished. Yet when I rely on Riot's system for justice I receive none. I don't even know why I am making this thread at this point, I actually feel pretty turned off by the game now. If people aren't punished every time they cross the line between small flame and zero tolerance what is the point of havin such a system in the first place? Anyway I guess I should just feel relieved they didn't kill themselves.

Seems like the system works only when It wants to. On my alt account I had a guy spamming n words and others racial slurs to black people yet no ban was handed out.

Or, you can grow a spine and ignore morons. People so unhappy about life they try so hard to bring some company to their own misery.

Remember that while a report can trigger a review, it's not always an instant ban or punishment You won't always know if they're punished after reporting them as well. If they continue their behavior, your report along with others will trigger a punishment in the future.

Of course, they could most definitely be punished without being banned, as the game works on a 4-tier punishment system;

  • First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
  • Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
  • Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

If this is their first offense, they can very well be chat restricted for 10 or 25 games currently. And if they continue their behavior, it'll only escalate to a suspension.

I think it would be a bit too much if it was caught by Riot's instaban system.

For example, "I can't take that camp, i'd kill myself", may be a phrase said by a jungler who is low. Of course there's a ton of ways to say that but most people don't think of that kind of thing when playing.
