Out of all the people that could have gotten an Elderwood Skin

Why not? The point of skins is to explore different ideas and theme.

If you think about it, it's quite fitting LeBlanc gets the Elderwood skin. If you look at pixies/fairies in the golden age of fairy tales, they are often portrayed as tricksters, deceptive and often times, evil. Then Disney came along and made them all innocent, happy and fart rainbows out of their bum.

I applaud Riot for doing something unexpected. Who would've thought they can change LeBlanc into a fairy?

LeBlanc was an interesting and welcome choice, considering her last two skins were both Legacy (Ravenborn 2014 Harrowing & Mistletoe 2011 Snowdown). Her only other skins were those given to her upon release back in November 2010. She's a fairly old champion that is finally getting her fifth skin.

I wonder if the Elderwood line will continue with an ADC, since we've got a Midlaner, Support and Jungle/Top already. Elderwood Kindred certainly isn't out of the picture.

I think its likely that the thought process behind the skin wasn't "Let's make a new elderwood skin",but more along the lines of "wouldn't it be cool if leblanc had some sort of dark fairy-skin(you know maleficent style)?"

Though I am a bit torn about the skin being part of the elderwood line as it doesn't resemble the other 2 skins that much and could easily be its own thing.

I had gotten excited cause from afar I had thought it was Zyra... welp

Because Leblanc's original model looks horribly outdated so the skin will make her more playable

I guess it was meant to take her in another direction, instead of being closer to her base skin, like most of others skins are. Although Elderwood LeBlanc is not a skin I would buy, I really like that Riot has done something different for her.

I have no skins for Nami as I feel they are too close to her base skin in style and execution. I would like something that differs a lot more from her original theme if I am going to spend money on it. It is more fun when Riot makes something unique and different instead of a new wardrobe for a champion.
