Comparing the 1st halves of 2017-18 in terms of skins.

For those who don't want to read this all I'm gonna summerise and say that last year was better in terms of skin design so far. I'm pretty sure most people will agree with me that the second half of the year usually has better skins (especially due to the releases of Star Guardian and Project for the past two years). Both years started off strong with the release of the "Lunar Revel" skins. I think it's a tie although Luxes recall feels really static even though it's really cute. Arctic OPs Gragas is a very good skin for a champion that hasn't gotten one in a while. Last years Valentine's skins were better then the ones this year. Xayah looks really different compared to her splash art and her recall is very boring. Although it has special SFX and VFX it doesn't feel like it's worth the price. Rakan has been changed although not everybody was too happy about this skin either. Lucian and Quinn didn't get a lot of negative feedback though. Dreadnova Gangplank was also released at this time last year. Next we got Swain's rework and last year we got Warwicks rework. Both made the champions skins much better then they previously were. It's a tie. Last year after the long awaited rework we got some of the best skins in-game, the Blood Moon trio. Beautiful skins although they can't really be compared to Dragon Master Swain and Dark Star Jarvan released at the same time this year. The only thing that I can say is the skin team did a better job promoting the champions that got skins at that time, last year. The next patch both years we didn't get many interesting skins but we got a new champion in 2018. All skins released at this time, including Resistance Illaoi, a long awaited skin, weren't too special. The Dragon skins were released next in 2017. They looked very good and Zyra got one of the best recall's in game. We got Gun Goddess MF in 2018 at this time. A very nice skin but her forms weren't as fleshed out despite the differences in each forms SFX and VFX. Each form had the same boring recall. Still an ultimate skin is an ultimate skin. In 2017 Galio's rework was released next, all the skins were very nicely done. Xayah's and Rakan's release was next. Their skins were great too. The April Fools skins were better this year. Alistar's skin is very nice and so is Kog'Maw's yet Sivir and Galio waited a long time for some nice skins and both were really well done. Dark Star Kha'Zix and Orianna's release was a great event. We got some beautiful skins and a new game mode. At this time in 2018 we got Irelia's rework and skins for Wukong and Rumble (some of the most boring recalls in game). Irelia's skins are very pretty but Frost Blades recall i sooooooooo bland. Then, this year we got Blood Moon Evelynn, probably the worst skin of the year (very bland model) and Beemo, probably the best skin of the first half of the year. Pulsefire skins were released in 2017 and 2018. Caityln even without her voice over is much better then this years Riven and TF. Shen is probably the best Pulsefire skin of this year yet quite a bit if Shen players have been complaining about his swords models. Then we got Dark Waters Diana and Vlad alongside Pyke's release (Diana has a very bland model) in 2018 and Chemtech Tryndamere in 2017. Both years had nice skins for the VS event so it's a tie in this case. The Championship skins are ones I shouldn't complain at since it was the players choice but all the SKT skins were nice while SSG Ez and Jarvan are much more bland compared to the rest of this years championship skins. Urgot's skins were nicely reworked and the Omega Squad skins were awesome too. The Football skins from this year are sadly quite lackluster. Aatroxe's rework this year was also a big success in terms of skins. Summerising, this year we did get some awesome skins like Beemo, Dark Star Cho or the God Kings. But due to the lack of more popular skin lines we haven't had as much great content this year. If we don't get some better and more popular skins like Project, Star Guardian, Blood Moon or Dragon (we did get Swain but it was a single skin and Evelynn isn't too nice honestly) this year will be much worse in terms of skins.
