A thank you and personal message to the secondary teams.
Hello there!, let me preface this open letter by saying when i say secondary teams i don't think of you as lesser, but just as those who don't exactly focus on the game itself, but more so the background and designs. This is a thank you to the art/sound/model/design/story/lore team and all the rest of you for keeping the game (somewhat) alive for this long. Why do I say 'for this long' however?
Well, its clear that the gameplay/balance/champ kit deisgn/bugfixing teams don't care about the game anymore, and care more about selling their pandering skins and trying (and failing might i add) to focus on tft, a game mode that still is MASSIVELY bugged and unbalanced, before the main selling point, league of legends itself. Or if they do, they refuse to (or perhaps are barred from) being transparent about it. Again, why do i say this? First off, they refuse to balance on whats actually strong and weak, and they have obvious favoritism, even if they deny it every time its brought up, its clear as day. They add things that break characters or mechanics that make other characters useless. Perfect example is mobility, I understand having some form of escape and mobility, i get it, but when every single champ or every other champ has 2-3 dashes, it kinda leaves the characters that don't have point and clicks or aoe spells (that are near them or large in diameter) in the dust.
Yes i know they are called skill shots, yes i know you need to aim them, but it becomes an almost impossible task when everyone is jumping around everywhere. "so you want to get rid of mobility? That will make (insert champ) unplayable!" No, im not saying that, again, mobility is fine, HOWEVER, there's been a trend that with the mobility comes MASSIVE survivability buffs as well. Examples include but not limited too- Kai'sas ult and that holy moses ratio, akali and her massive amounts of healing (you hit the problem a little bit with removing the base healing from q but gunblade makes up MORE than enough of it), sylas, riven, fiora, you get the idea.
Another thing, as stated above, is balance in general. I know ill get people crying about me including their champion, but i don't care at this point, i've seen enough of them to know their perspective is skewed and they can do no wrong.
Perfect examples of champs that don't get touched because of favoritism are
(for some reason)
and
just to name a few, and i'm tired of them just ignoring the player base on it. They also add in things they think is cool (which in of itself isn't a bad thing, its their game, they have all the right to do it), but they add them WITHOUT seeing how it would impact the game (and inadvertently some champs), and either take ages to fix it because they would rather them not be wrong about their decision to add it, or not touched at all. Perfect example is this abomination
. It just feels like they are so out of touch with the actual player base, and would rather just throw anything in there just to have it added regardless of how it affects the meta or other mechanics. Some examples of this is
(on release, took them ages to admit they were wrong and the numbers might be ok now, but the kit itself is cancerous)
(release to present day) and
(release). I don't know if they just cant admit to being wrong, but if they keep doing stuff like that for the next champs, the game's gonna cave in on itself.
_Alright, enough of shitting on the balance team, we all know what that's like, now onto the thank you part of this post. _
You guys in the secondary teams keep the game alive, you all have the most talent I've seen in writing compelling stories, setting the scenarios for the world and said stories, making fleshed out characters, and music to boot! Hell, you even somehow managed to create **AN ENTIRE NEW FACTION **just to be able to add in Mrs. Thick thigh fetish
, and that alone takes a lot when you already have most of the map settled in. I personally think you guys should have more say in how the game is, if you don't already, since it feels like you know more about what the game is SUPPOSED to be like, or how characters SHOULD be. Not to mention, even if i hate how greedy most of them feel like (star guardian pajama party, i'm looking at you) you guys make amazing skins, ESPECIALLY the ones that are supposed to be rare. You actually make them feel different and worth being called rare, or even the legendary skins. The themes you come up with and how you implement them are also quite impressive, so that's another thing.
You guys are the backbone of this game right now, and i hope to god something changes so you guys don't break said backbone, so to speak.
Basically what it all sums up to, is i feel that you guys deserve more (and maybe all) the credit for keeping the game alive despite the current game play being like it is, because you ACTUALLY CARE about the game, like a game developer should with its creation, and it feels like the primary team's spark has faded, and in the case recently, like with the eternals or immortals whatever its called, are falling into more and more of a greed trap and mentality, where they are trying to get as much as they can before the boat sinks completely. So, thank you for all you do and have done to keep this game and its rich world alive for so long, and i hope something changes for the game that gives it a new spark, and that you guys have more of a say on whats added to the game play part itself.
Alright, post over, i want to say that this is not a rant at the balance team, even though i touched on it a bit midway through, i was more trying to compare the two, so i'm sorry if it looks like i'm just another troll on the 'balance team hate train'. I also hope that there can be a discussion in the comments below, and that you all add your thoughts of the state of the game and how you hope it will change for the better. Thank you for reading, and i hope someone on the boards links it to the team to let them know how grateful I, and id like to think a lot of you, are for them and what they do. I hope you all have a good day/night. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
