Who's the smartest champion in league?

Hardstuck Hero··8 votes·6,241 views

So there's always discussion about who the "Most powerful champion" is in League. But what I want to know is who's got the best brain of the bunch.

I think it would have to boil down toHeimerdinger Jayce Ziggs Velkoz and Viktor

In my opinion, Vik would have to take this for making the Battlecast skin line (which includes Vel), making Blitzcrank, reviving Urgot, and mechanizing his own body. (haven't read Vik's new lore yet so I may have missed something or been misinformed)

This also doesn't need to be limited to Science. Smartest Champions could include those well-versed in Magic, Leadership, Battle knowledge, Tacticians etc.

i want to remove Vel koz from this list for he actually isn't smart. He technically steals knowledge. That means through how his powers work. He was once a complete idiot most likely, but than realized what his abilities were and decided to use it in his thirst for knowledge. That is stolen knowledge not earned. We also have different types of knowledge, from science, to philosophy. So i'm going to make my list based off who is the best at each field

Best Scientist award- Viktor

Best Survival knowledge award- Sejuani

Best War Tactician Award -Swain

Best Philosophy on life Award - Illaoi

Viktor- LITERALLY RE INVENTED THE HUMAN SOUL Blitzcrank

Sejuani: Can survive a blizzard with legitimately ZERO supplies

Swaine- has conquered countless lands, and done many many campaigns has more experience than anyone you could list

Illaoi- Was so well versed on life that a god literally chose her to be his disciple.

WOAH WOAH Woah. Calm down there for just a minute.

General Boram Darkwill,
ruled Noxus as the Noxian High Command since before the time of King Jarvan I of Demacia. His seemingly endless hunger for power and conquest has driven Noxus to be the nightmarish threat to its neighbors that it is today.

It wasn't until recently Swain took over.
Sure he's a great field Commander but ultimately he just took what someone else's seat of Power. with political manuevering and Darous's help.

Mordekaiser on the Other hand. Cut out his own Territory: the Whole of Eastern Valoran ruling as a brutal Warlord for centuries. he was eventually killed by an alliance of his numerous enemies. But Mordekaiser's Death was all planned and he came back in his current Form and Ruled over the AGE of IRON.
Boom IRON Gauntlet Thrown Down.

You can't kill the Metal the Metal will Live on

Well we don't know how good Borams rule really was.

I mean it was under his command that they tried to invade ionia, which ultimately failed and caused quite a lot of losses among the noxians(with strategies like "lets bomb everyone to death,we have reserves").

Mordepool1 votes

Boram is only relevant just to point out how swain came into power, and just how short of a rule that actually is compared too. A Warrior who transcended death to Rule the Age of Iron, which he Ushered in with His own two Gauntleted (yet Remarkably spiky) hands. He's probably seen more battles than swain has read about

GreenLore1 votes

Ah sorry you meant that Boram is superior in terms of experience right?

Misunderstood you there.

But either way,the more important question is how much Boram learned from these experiences.

True. But he isn't really a candidate for smartest champion.

He was once a complete idiot most likely, but than realized what his abilities were and decided to use it in his thirst for knowledge. That is stolen knowledge not earned.

Every single knowledge is taken from somewhere, no one just conjures things from the top of their head, no one is born to magically know how to algebra, and no one is more worthy to receive a knowledge than others. There is no such distinction between supposed "earned" knowledge and "stolen" knowledge. You steal knowledge from books, from other people, from everything you see. Learning itself is not that much different from the general idea of stealing, on a general level, it's all taking without asking and without giving it back; learning is morally allowed because knowledge is intangible and duplicate-able and it also can not be owned (though you can own the product of your knowledge, to a certain extent).

Whichever way you want to use to argue that Vel is dumb, "stealing knowledge" isn't the correct approach.

Ethical and moral questions only truly arise when we discuss the physical process of which one learns and how one does with their knowledge etc, but not to do with the learning itself. If you're saying however, that he learns by killing people and destroying things instead of searching for an alternative way to learn that could be mutually beneficial and sustainable, and that he doesn't seem to try and put his knowledge into some kind of use and is merely using them as a way to sate his mental hunger, then that would be a different matter. But dissing him and label him stupid on the premise of "he learns" isn't rationally sound.

That's like saying someone who is able to study hard and memorize a lot isn't actually smart.

I basically surrounded myself with kids like that in HS to help with my learning, and they were smart kids! It may be a lot of memorization, but understanding develops from that as well.

Meanwhile half the things in life that required common sense or emotional intelligence and depth...went right over their heads.

I don't see how you can say Velkoz wouldn't earn the knowledge just because it's not the same way in which you learn. Pretty ignorant.

Dude got tricked by pretty words and a crown and hasn't figured out how to get out from under the control of beings that must be like ants to him, at least not for a couple millennia.

Sol's powerful, probably most powerful character in the game. But I don't credit him with an over abundance of smarts.

There's a difference between being smart and being arrogant.

I'd probably give it up to Nasus. He's seen multiple civilizations and has a profound understanding of what leads to corruption, ruin, and tragedy. He's a curator and I think it's still canon that he has amassed a library of collected works. From a standpoint of wisdom and knowledge, he's probably someone you could spend years talking to, and still not scratch the surface of what he could teach.

I agree. I always think of the owl spirit in Avatar when I think of his lore. A powerful being who has read and memeorized every intellectual or historical work ever written.

I'm gonna limit myself to new lore, so heimer and ziggs are out. Xerath may be the naturally smartest character in the game. Guy came from slavery and managed to learn more than anyone in his time except maybe Nasus and manipulated an empire.

However, he probably isn't the most educated character. And his arrogance really puts a damper on his grand master plans. His knowledge of magic as well is somewhat limited as he is on the verge of exploding all the time.

In war, Swain is pretty much confirmed to be the greatest mind. Riot mentioned that in a military engagement Swain was better than Nasus, largely because Nasus is rusty, and Swain has a lot of new tricks up his sleeve. But regardless of reasons it still goes to him.

In tech, it's hard to top Viktor. Really nothing we've seen from new lore has come close to his accomplishments except Orianna's dad. Who I don't think really counts.

Genius in politics, probably Leblanc, mostly because I can't think of anyone to challenge her except Swain. And of the two I get the impression politics is Leblanc's life while it's just a convenience for Swain, and so he just latches onto Leblanc right up until they start to disagree. Could totally be wrong there.

Depending on exactly who's memories Ahri has taken, she could have developed quite a library of knowledge over the years.

I image others of her kind that were not forced to be raised in the wild could make better or more planned use of that ability.

I would have to say Velkoz

I only say this because he can learn everything about a species of animal and break down their whole genome from early ancestry mutations to now. He probably has learned about tons of species from when he was "born" and knows everything about language and physics. We know very little about his past, however, so we can't really say when he was born and when he started doing his weird research but yea I think he is the smartest.

What, no Zilean? He invented time travel so powerful that he knows everything that will and has happened.

Even Vel'koz is jelly.

GreenLore1 votes

No he hasn't.

He tried to invent some machines to affect time and ended up getting himself a magical disease. Now he doesn't age,but starts to experience his past from time to time.

However he never traveled through time and he can't see the future.

He can definitely see the future.

"I knew you would do that. " "I have seen your death, it was painful." "The way is always the same."

GreenLore1 votes

Ah come on "I have seen your death,it was painful" is his taunt,he is clearly just saying it to insult his enemies.

and "the way is always the same" can just as easily refer to the past, which he always experiences again and again.

And overall his lines were written at a time where they didn't put that much thought into the VO.

Easily Heimerdinger. The guy is literally the Yordle version of Einstein. His entire basis is to be smart if literally nothing else.

The rest of those guys happen to be inventors and innovators, but if that put them in the running for being the smartest, then Ekko, Vi and the rest of Piltover and Zaun are also in the running.

ANYWAYS, i dont think that they are the smartest champion.

I think that the smartest champion of all, is THE WISE ORACLE, an ANCIENT creature that is worshipped as a GOD who only appears to worthy pilgrims in great need of his aid.

Who is this wonderfull champion?
