AhmCha2 votesHe was a top tier mid laner for a while, but Riot nerfed him to the point where everything he did was simply underwhelming.
Basically it happened because Azir, even in a balanced state, is pick or ban in competitive because his kit is overloaded to the point where he can basically do anything other mid laners can. He has sustained damage, burst, poke, siege, engage, disengage, and he's a lane bully that scales into a late game carry. He can still be made useful to the dedicated player, but to the rest of the League community he's underwhelming at best.

OHminus1 votesWarrior + Trinity is almost a must, but if you really are deterred by the cost, just go Iceborn against heavy AD, Maw against heavy AP, or Deadmans if unsure as the 2nd item. Titanic is a good item only if you have attack speed - which almost definitely means a Trinity.

KoKoboto3 votesTbh I think Triforce falls off hard on Vi If you're currently practicing her try going Death's Dance or any other item. I notice that in cases where I can't 100-0 the squishies due to supports/cc/healing Triforce falls off hard. Death's Dance gives sustain and tankyness allowing Vi to fight longer.
OHminus1 votesDeath's Dance is interesting, but I think attack speed on Vi is absolutely vital. Triforce gives more burst in the way of Sheen, massive attack speed, 25 ad (other items may give more but this is sufficient) and health. It's way too good of an item to pass up. The only thing deterring you is the cost, and that really shouldn't be a problem anyway since the only case in which you won't have enough gold by 16~18 min is when you are very behind (and that's when you just rush tank)

Vi can function pretty well as an off-tank. If need be, consider building Deadman's Plate before Trinity Force (possibly afer buying Sheen).
Alternatively, you could try building Tiamat -> Cinderhulk into Trinity Force or Titanic Hydra when you need to initiation and tank for your team. It might not be quite as optimal, but it can work rather well.

If you really want durability, building Titanic Hydra/Trinity Force -> Cinderhulk -> Deadman's Plate provides decent damage and high durability.
That said, I would recommend asking or researching players who are more experienced with her regarding your options.

I don't mind it, but I still think he could have used his Archmage Garen legendary with Deathfire Grasp as his truncheon.
