Targon lore inspirations
Okay, so after reading the Targon lore, I got the immediate feeling of that of a Chinese Xianxia novel. Examples of the influences would be warlike sects in reverence of beings beyond their imagination, a fixation on celestial beings descended to a mortal plane, the existence of other worlds, the granting of power from the heavens, etc. etc. Now all of these, taken one at a time are fairly universal, however, when presented all together, and in the way they are, it smacks of xianxia inspiration.
Sub-supporting this is how it seems the Tagon lore is related to Aurelian Sol, and how his previous incarnation (Ao Shin,) was based on oriental dragon design, as well, as the fat that Ao Shin was first shown to Chinese audiences, as well, as the fact that the Chinese Q&A were specifically brought up in the reveal of Aurelian Sol, despite the near worldwide hype over him for so long.
Following this line of reasoning, I feel relatively assured that Taric is going to be one of the 2 "mystery champions" because, in Taric's old lore he found himself on runterra from another world, reincarnation and world hoping being common origins for xianxia protagonists.
in closing, gems.
