They Are Coming - ALIENS

Several files named "TheyAreComing" surfaced in the last PBE patch. While it is still unknown as to who they are and when they are coming, I believe that this is a prophecy fortelling the return of extraterrestrials--aliens.

Back in colonial times, there was a champion named Averdrian who was cancelled. http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091030230944/leagueoflegends/images/e/ef/Averdrian.png If we take a look at the colors of his body, we can see that he is the same color as those that make up the symbol from the PBE patch.

A coffin containing could be seen on the 2010 Harrowing map. The article on Averdrian from the lol wiki says that this could be interpreted as the "nail-in-the-coffin" confirming his cancellation. http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110105081652/leagueoflegends/images/4/46/AverdrianCoffin.jpg The coffin, however, was pried open which means that the final nail was not sufficient in lying him to rest. Or maybe he was taken from his coffin.

In recent years, we've seen tie-ins with the Harrowing and the Shadow Isles, a haunted land populated by undead beings. If it is true that he was removed from his coffin on the Harrowing map, then it is quite possible that he returned and found residence within the Shadow Isles.

If we look closer at Averdrian we can see a a swirl pattern on his forehead. http://puu.sh/jQ1tD/265579294f.png There is a symbol in lol lore that has a swirl on a head. The top part of the crest has a resemblence to the symbol found in the PBE patch. It is predominantly blue with a swirl spinning counter-clockwise (from the inside out).

BUT AVERDRIANS SWIRL IS CLOCKWISE

Riot's designs tend to change over time. Like a poliwag evolving into a poliwhirl, an update to his design could mean a reverse in the swirls direction.

With the Harrowing a month or two away, the Shadow Isles and the Harrowing may just be the big connection between the PBE symbol and Averdrian.

I think it's Void related, possibly an event of sorts tied in to Harrowing.

The quote at the end of Malzahar's lore says, "The land may melt, The sea may swell, the sky may fall.. but They will come."

This is a really good speculation but "They" could also be the watchers or even a Shadow Isles champion I don't know for sure. Good job on the research tho :)

Seeing as we are getting closer and closer to Halloween (AKA The Harrowing) I think it's harrowing related. It's visual effects in-game seem to be more cartoonish though.

With Halloween in a little over a month, it's most likely a Shadow Isles Harrowing thing.

Riot also did this with Azir (there was a similar champ who was dropped but came back in the form of our beloved sand emperor) so I can see this happening.

However, it is a little bit early for a Harrowing/Shadow Isles champion to be released as of right now. It's still two months until Halloween!

I also believe that Riot said that this champion release would be delayed a bit (for Worlds IIRC) so I wouldn't be surprised if this champ was Harrowing related.

I've noticed that these symbols have been popping up specifically on champions that are from Shurima. Whenever I play Azir and Xerath (my two mains,) it always pops up. When I played Skarner it also appeared on top of his head. Even Brofresco saw the symbol in a video when he was playing Skarner jungle. A friend told me it was a teaser for a new champ, so I'm just gonna assume this new champ is gonna be from Shurima.
