oh i guess hat is true. after the Leak with the new champ art and voice. i started to think are we really getting another humanoid champ already. completely forgetting about Aurelion Sol since he has become basically non-existant in the game anymore and is basically played like 1 in 50 games

I wouldn't call Aurelion Sol as monster, he is dragonoid. His race is a really common type in fantasic universes. Monsters are for me, have no a constant appereance. They're unique for their universe. Rek'Sai as example, you're not going to something like Rek'Sai who belongs to Xer'Sai race. It is unique for LoL. Monsters are a general name for extraordinary looking creatures I believe. Aurelion Sol is not extraordinary. He is simply a dragon.

AurelionSol is actually still pretty strong (and fun to play for me) but I think people stopped playing him after rito gave him some big nerfs that actually balanced him pretty good.

it's the nerfs added onto the fact that melee mids have been more popular lately and basically any form of melee just make Sol Useless in lane. his ult can help but it won't do much else when it's down.

Well, it looks like the new champion is gonna be a monstrous gargoyle type demon monster with a heart of gold.

Supposedly, this splash was leaked onto the chinese client

Seems like a druid type champion.

That picture is from a Chinese MOBA and it was drawn over a month ago.

It was drawn by a person named Jun Yu. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xNx22

It's Galio. Galio

Dude, it's not Galio! They've just announced it and the team are at an early stage on working on him. They don't have that much speed and determination in actually get him done in such a shockingly short amount of time. Galio won't be finished until after Warwick, who needs a rework more than Galio does.

They team that worked on Yorick has just gotten started on Galio, so clearly, he's not ready to be released THIS early. So stop saying that it's Galio because it's NOT Galio.

Relaunches and reworks are done by different teams and worked on at the same time.

Yorick was done for awhile, he just had to go through testing. They have had plenty of time to work on Galio. Besides, the model and the voice are the easy parts. Nearly every old champion already has a high quality model and texture ready, they are just waiting to fully revamp old characters before using them.

How do you know this? For most champions they won't make the model till they finish lore, personality, and kit. For example, they can't make Yorick model till they know he has a black mist cape which ties into his lore.

They said like a week ago they were still deciding who to rework after WW. Galio just got chosen, they are just starting on him.

SSmotzer1 votes

Galio just didn't get picked, they have been working on him for awhile. Every champion is in some form of rework at any given moment. Galio was just lucky enough to reach a milestone in his development, and has moved on to full development from a dedicated team and then he goes on to the PBE for testing.

oh no the team that did Yorick is doing Galio? now i'm scared to see how much they change him from being the Gargoyle i love Lore Wise. they already ruined his and Poppy's relationship i hope they don't mess him up too bad.

Technically you could count Kled. Before that would be Sol or Tahm Kench, then Rek'Sai

Baron von Jiggly2 votes

i don't really count Yordles. because they are more humanized than most champions

Skaarl?

Baron von Jiggly1 votes

i guess Skarl counts but i mostly mean Bigger monsters like Cho'gath, Rek'sai, Tahm, & Skarner

Lost R1 votes

If you're just talking about non-humans and Yordles, then half of Kled, Aurelion Sol, Kindred, Tahm Kench, Bard, Rek'Sai, and then Vel'Koz.

Non-human champions are a rarity in the game, when you tally them all up.
