Yeh. We have no idea what's with him. He might be the great great great granduncle of Azir or something, or friends with rammus.

i dont think amumu has shit to do with azir since hes a yordle. He may be even older than azir.

Actually it isn't confirmed hes a yordle, could just be some mummy kid, On The wiki it lists him to be possibly human too.
