Are we getting lore updates regarding Summoner's Rift?

Galio's VO says that the nexus crystal is living. Are we gonna get more information on this? Are summoners becoming canon again?

They did confirm recently that summoners ARE indeed part of the new lore.

They haven't said much else yet.

Hmmm. Maybe the Summoners are some kind of mystical beings connected to the Void.

Oh... I surely hope not. It has kind of re-kindled my hope that there are war games built into the universe, but we'll see where they take it. When they announced the retcon, I thought they did so because they wanted to write summoner's rift out of the lore, but it's possible that they changed their minds when they realized how cool fantasy war games are in a story. XD

Tbh having the champions all summoned for war games kinda limits story telling a little. There's only so much you can do with it. I would find it more interesting if the Summoner's Rift was some place that is also tied to the void as Baron Nashor and the Rift Herald look like voidlings. If summoners start causing problems by allowing voidlings to invade Valoran, the Rift seems like a good place to have some champions travel in order to stop the invasion.

That doesn't really explain the quote, though... Having the nexus crystals as part of the lore kind of implies some kind of magical structure around the war games of Summoner's Rift, imo. If Summoner's Rift is just some random location in the lore, why include nexus crystals as part of Galio's quotes?

I think it points at something bigger.

The Nexus crystals could be what's tying the area to the Void for all we know. The Rift wouldn't be just some random place, but some important place of legend; probably forgotten by most. And I feel like Summoners using the Void to invade Runeterra is a little bigger than some silly war games.
