Riot Shantzilla on Reddit:

> Full disclosure, this is an awesome-metal-world caricature of Bandle City that's not canon. Just a fun simple scene for the metalheads to tear up. \m/ >But don't worry, we're super excited to dive more into the canon of Bandle City in the future, too. :)

Did anyone actually think this was part of the prime canon to begin with?

I think that OP is talking about the "look" of the City itself, not what it happened in the video.

Oh ok.

...

A bit small for a city though. Don't get how people would mistake it. Silly billys.

Well, they are Yordles. How big is a Yordle city supposed to be?

Turns out when we finally get to actual Bandle City, it is freakin' huge and has a population count in the millions.

People ask if skins are canon and such a lot, and we still get questions sometimes over if Vi/Garen/Sona/Zed are dead because of the Jhin teasers, so I wouldn't be too surprised.

Pre-metal takeover, I thought that's what it looked like.

Probably. I knew it wasn't the moment I saw Poppy.

Well I knew before that because Yorick wasn't fighting anyone in the band, but that's beside the point.

I did not think of it as canon by any stretch, but still i was amused at how that's the closest we have ever get to see Bandle in any media, even considering the old JoJ. The only case that comes in my mind is the curse of the sad mummy, but there again we barely understand something.

When you use the term canon- what do you really mean, official or a genuine work of league?

Canon means something belongs to actual lore, not alternative ones like skin universes.

Skin universes are also canon, but there is also the prime canon which is showcased on the Universe page.

I dont know, they always say they like to let skin stories to players.

Canon as in true to the actual story of League. Skins can be non-canon and have their own stories. If the game has a central, prime lore, it's safe to call AUs non-canon since they aren't the main focus and draw on characters from the main universe.

But they are canon, due to the existence of a multiverse and beings that can travers through them such as Bard and Pulsefire Caitlyn. They connect all the worlds in a web of canonisity. As a said the prime canon or timeline is the one showcased in the universe pages and is the basis of all other timelines.
