I feel like swain's facial features miss their mark. He should look a bit older, especially his hair and nose were better in the teased version imo.

He actually looks kinda like Darius with the somewhat wide nose, bushy eyebrows, thick black hair and "brawny" cheeks.

His face should be thinner, more worn, sharper (almost avian) features, he should look like the master tactician with lots of experience...

Yup i agree too. Swain is around 50 years old and has a leg that was cut in half. Hopefully there will be some changes to the splash yet again. Atleast Beatrice and his robe look nice.

There are definitely some improvements I absolutely love, especially the collar obstructing his lower face, we already have singed covering his face with bandages. Beatrice does look more menacing and the subtle hints at Swain's demon bird form are a nice touch. His face though doesn't scream swain to me, something really important for a base splash art.

I don't think his face captures his emotions properly. In his current backstory, he's a very calm individual. I see him as a cold and calculative person, not someone that has a very expressive temper, he'd hide it well behind an attitude as if he was, disappointed.

The teased splash gives off the impression that he's, inquisitive, but not really showing any outward emotion. Which is what I think is core to his identity. He's not someone that gets furious when his plans are ruined, instead, he learns from this mistake, permanently storing this type of strategic counter, so he can plan to destroy it if he encounters this later.

I imagine he'd be the kind of guy to sigh when bad news came his way. Like say, if a General reported that they lost ground by Demacian forces, he'd sigh, and ask for more information on how this happened. Of course, just his very disappointed look would scare the shit out of this officer, as he'd know how powerful he was, and that he screwed up. All the while, Swain, the Master Tactician, is planning out his original fight, with this new factor.

Yeah... I think I went a bit too far.

Absolutely agreed! His nose is way too wide and his eyebrows and hair too dense. He looks like some russian soldier (I know Noxus might be a parallel to Russia, but I personally don't like Russia and also am a fan of Noxus, so I don't like to compare it). Please, I would sell the world for the teased version, back then when I saw it, I had a not-so-small nerdgasm (HUGE Swain fan in lore), on the other hand this like REALLY dissapointed me, please, reconsider getting close to this version again. :)

Ok, you're right, it is a different line of ability. So that means that you don't have those skills? Not a bad thing. But I can't critique something if I don't know very much in the field. If I don't know much I can't accurately judge it unless the problem is very clear. I'm not gonna shit on someone for making some art if I can't make better art. If you have a different line of ability (which I sure hope isn't social working) then you don't know the ins and outs of this one, and can't give tips someone can actually learn from.

Similar to what another guy pointed out, there's a reason you said "like", because you know what you gave wasn't a critique, is was 80% hate. There's a reason you brought up another situation of "that's like this", because the 'this' we are talking about here you have no argument for. You know (hopefully) that looking back at it you just tossed out hate and not real critiques, what you gave out wasn't a critique, it was shitposting. I don't have a problem with real feedback, as long as that is backed up and/or given reasons for their stance.

I know I'm not a critic, but everyone is entitled to their opinion, when I say the only good one is poppy I'm not making a international deceleration, I'm just giving my opinion, people can not agree with me and that's perfectly fine, sure I can't do that but I bet you there's things I can do that "HUGEnFAST" can't do, I have nothing against him as a person but I just personally dislike some of the artworks he has done, I don't hate anyone, I'm probably one of the most accepting people you will find, but I'm also brutally honest, so many people are afraid to say what they think, but in reality I'm not,

I'll probably get downvoted for this but in reality I can live my life knowing I don't let things hold me back, that was kind of off topic but what I'm saying really is if I don't like it I'm not going to water that down, art is a vast thing, now I'll let you know, the artworks that hugenfast did are extremely well done and I can acknowledge that, however, when I say good I mean visually appealing to me as a person, my opinion, now I can't describe this because everyone has different art tastes and you don't choose those, but to me those certain artworks aren't visually appealing and I can't control that, anyway I hope you have a great day lol :P

Hey man, this, this is one big problem is League. Just read your first comment compared to this one man, see how delivery can mean so much? At first you just gave out some pointless hate and now you turned it into a nicely delivered message that gets your point across without sounding like an ~~asshole~~.

And yes, I know it was your opinion (obv) but you gotta realize the way you come off, as I said in my first response you word it in a way that makes it come out as a fact. Yea, I wasn't calling the artist a god or anything, if you dislike it that's fine, that's your opinion, but I don't personally share my opinion unless I have something more to say behind it. Not saying that just tossing an opinion out is bad, but I only toss mine out if I have reasons to believe, what lead me too those thoughts. If you had said "I think", "in my opinion", "I only really like", etc. Then you would've come off as much worse. Would you still get downvotes? Yes, you're against the popular opinion, that will always happen regardless of the subject.

I can very easily come off as a hater if I have a different opinion than you, but I am not here to beat you down as a person, just here (in the boards) to have some interesting conversation and call people out on random things. If you have an opinion and you come off as more rude than you have to be you can bet I will be there to say that you sound like one of the most toxic people on planet earth, purely due to your delivery.

Here's the reasons I responded to your original post. I didn't like the way you delivered it, coming off as just another hate comment. The way I see it, if a single person values something then that thing has value, it is good for them; it is in someway good. Mainly going off of the majority to decide what something is worth. So saying that all the others are bad is just false, as long as someone values them they have value. Saying all the others are bad, and clearly making it an opinion, is fine.

Same to you man, I hope that I could at least deliver some sort of message to you in this post.

Seriously, those type of right is reserve for people to use against the government and any official authority. It was never meant for you to use as a way to argue with another citizen. All of those artwork look very professional, if it was some random guy drawing a stick figure and propose it for an official company, then it is reasonable for them to say back off since they are wasting others people time. But this... this is professional level of illustration, someone is literally doing it for a living. Your comment was very rude and disrespectful, I wouldn't walk up to someone and said "You are really fat, try to get better diet" just because I'm skinny. Even though it is an honest truth, why shouldn't anyone ever said it? It's because something is better to be dealt with by using avoidance. I'm not going to chase someone to the end of the world just because they cut me on the road. It isn't worth it for me to look like a complete fool and being reckless just because I cannot handle something such as other people driving. Honesty isn't equivalent to justice, avoiding something might actually make you feels better sometimes as long as you don't use it on anything that is effecting you directly in the long run. I want to tell you a story, but I think you should get my point by now. Just don't be a douche bag to others. You don't have to be nice or agreeing with everything, just don't be a douche.

I like the current splash for the darius. The original art feels more merciless(?) but this new splash looks just.. fierce like the garden's splash. I really like the concept of darius as a merciless bloody warrior than a fierce warrior. If the riot could just enhance the quality of the original splash, it would be nice.

I'm kind of torn about the new Darius art. He looks awesome, sure, but I really enjoyed his old one, where he was just choking some guy to death with a contemptuous sneer. I felt it did a good job showing his disdain for weakness, whereas this one is kind of just a generic "angry dude with his arms thrown back"

I dislike the Darius splash.

It speaks more of him as a blood-thirsty berserk, rather than an enduring warrior who never backs down.

Plus he lost his touch of grey. I really liked that Darius was a physically oriented champion (I.E. not Swain) who seemed to not be some 20 something, but was old enough to actually have some grey hairs coming in. It really added gravity and weight to him as a threatening figure; you know what they say about old soldiers.

Idk, he was literally holding some guys head down as he just finished slicing him open. Sounds pretty murderous and bloodthirsty to me. I get much more of a 'resilient warrior tearing apart the front lines' vibe from the new one.

if you look closely you can still see he has grey in his hair.

But yeah, i'm not sure this splash needed to be updated. It's certainly debatable, but there are so many other splash arts that need to be updated where it isn't at all debatable.

Darius lore depicts him as a calculating warrior. Brutal and idealistic, but one with actual beliefs which he fights for rather than simply being a warmonger / blood-thirsty berserker who only gets off on killing.

The previous splash did an accurate job of portraying this. The bodies showed that he was an effective and dangerous fighter, but the stance and fact that he was looking forward conveyed that he was taking time to analyse / think about the situation.. Rather than simply rushing into more bloodshed for laughs.

The new splash might as well be Olaf with a different axe and armor. He's screaming his heart out and killing men left and right.. When Darius himself, at least VO wise, pretty much never shouts.

It's not a bad splash by any means and it does look badass, but when Darius already have a great (if ancient) splash art.. It's a big let down.

Bit disappointed with Darius. Not badly executed, mind you, most of the issues I had/have with some of the new "dynamic" splasharts are thankfully absent and I don't wonder what Darius is doing there. It's just that Darius' old splash conveyed that impression of a calm, relentless and unstoppable force. The way he looked up from that fresh corpse and gave you that "You're next"-look was awesome and I'd love it if we could maintain that calm menace over the "Raargh-I'm angry"-look he has going on there.

Swain, I like. No perspective-zoom, no dash-pose just him sitting there, taking you apart with his eyes. Agree with the others here though that maybe he shouldn't invest his salary into that many hair products.

Galactic Renekton however takes the cake in my book and I don't even play him. Although I do find it kinda ironic that Darius is going full rage and RENEKTON, of all people, has the solemn thinker-pose. xD
