Is the Ruined King Going to Become a Champion?
I'm reading the lore for the Shadow Isles right now and the question is driving me nuts.

I think it's a possibility, it's been mentioned as one (Check out the link DwarvenGiant posted), but I do kinda like the Ruined King as just being more of a background character, sort of like Boram Darkwill. I think making him a champ would take away some of the mystery and fear that surrounds his character.
Not knowing much about him, how sentient he still is, what his goals are, what he looks like...I feel like that enhances his "spooky" factor.
This was asked on the yorick test stream and the answer of the lead designer for Yorick said something along the lines of
"That might be cool"
So its not in the works, but they have at least acknowledged it.
Potentially, though it depends on what Riot wants to do with him. Right now we don't know what the Ruined King's up to or his ultimate fate, so it's anyone's guess really.
Meddler actually talked about the possibility of the Ruined King being a champ a few days ago:
