Im so dumb! With the recent talk about Ao Shin, actually Aurelion Sol. Could Aurelion Sol be coming along with the Targon events? I mean, dragons fly and Targon reminds me a lot about dragons.

Yeah thats actually a very common theory about him.

I think the 2 empty slots might get to Taric(once his rework comes out) and Aurelion Sol.

Those two are most likely to be the unknown slots but I still have hope for a surprise VU for Malphite . The dream will remain alive until proven otherwise.

They confirmed who theyre working on as far as VUs are concerned. Malphite isnt one of them

They confirmed the big scaled one nothing about the smaller scale ones they pop up pretty randomly.

We actually have 3 separate Pods on Champ Up now. So there is a group working on Taric, another group working on Yorick and a 3rd Group working on the Mage Roster Update. The new structure we have is much different the the old days so I wouldn't expect such large gaps in between VGUs now. Taric and Yorick should almost certainly come out this year, in fact, those probably won't be the only 2 large VGUs that come out this year.

Taric and Yorick are our big focus right now but we will hopefully do more then that this year.

Last year as far as large reworks we had Tristana, Fiora, Gangplank & Poppy. While all 4 of those weren't changed as much as Sion/Poppy they were the same Art/animation resources to accomplish. We didn't have as much narrative support back then so we couldn't do full Sion/Poppy level reworks to Trist and Fiora. Also Tristana's lore was already solid. Gangplank and Poppy were towards the end of the year once we acquired some narrative writers.

We now have 2 narrative writers on Champ Up so we can do more of the big Sion/Poppy level reworks this year to champs that need Thematic/Lore updates as well as Gameplay & Art.

This is why I wouldn't consider Karma a Poppy/Sion level rework sicne we didn't significantly change her Lore/Theme. Karma would be closer to Fiora where most of there Gameplay changed but not her Lore/Theme as well.

I still wonder... Aurelion Sol does click with all of this, since he is a dragon and also a sort of cosmic being in some way. But where does Taric fit in? I have a small theory, maybe he is just an adventurer who is trying to climb the mountain, as many say, everyone fails. But he is the first to climb and get back with maybe some special gems. Imagine a Sun Stone or a Moon Stone, hell we can imagine anything!
