Lore Impact on In-game Events @Riot

I was thinking primarily of the Bilgewater event where Gangplank "died" and then he was disabled in game for the duration. Yes, I do know he was disabled because of a bug on his barrels as well as the fact that he was disabled for too long. +2 Weeks is far too long for a character to be 'dead' in-game.

Still, that was really really cool and I want to see Riot doing more events like that.

I'm actually 99% sure that he was really disabled because of lore reasons. I think I remember that the bug was fixed shortly (if there was a bug at all?).

I also remember that Rioters were asked if it was a bug that kept him disabled, but they seriously replied with things like, "Unfortunately, Gangplank died in the events of Burning Tides".

-_-

Anyways, I think that nothing in that regard is off the table. But I guess that they wouldn't (and shouldn't) overuse the "X has been disabled because ded", of course.

Personally thought that was a really bad idea that did nothing but infuriated the people who just bought him because of his recent rework and those guys who mained him for no real benefit except conceptually for people who didn't want to play him anyway.

A much better in game event has been that crown thing with the 3 queens. A fun little addition that doesn't piss people off over a lore situation the players may or may not care about to begin with.
