I've always been under the assumption that it's not what Olaf REALLY wants. He doesn't want to die he just doesnt want to be old because he has a misguided notion that being old= worthless, but im not only sure that Olaf will live a long life, but accept it, heck maybe he'll even marry with a certain boar rider and have a genetically unstoppable child. Say what you will but I like the looks of Olaf's future even if he may not.

He doesn't want to die old. He does not want to pass away peacefully. He could be 101 years old, as long as he dies fighting he's content

Well, the last time a champion died in the lore, he was disabled for about a week. So I'm not sure that killing off Olaf would be beneficial in the long run.

Now if it were Poppy or Urgot , you could kill them off and then disable them until their rework is released. Then, right before the rework release you could have an event where some of the champions go on an epic quest to resurrect them (I could see the Yordles doing this more than I can see the Noxians doing it).

I can picture it now, Olaf and Mordekaiser battling on top of a mountain of corpse, the Black Mist raging in the background, surrounded by fire and lighting as the storm raged around them and Bilgewater burns. It would be so metal!

I find it funny that we can witness Riot's disputes on the boards when they can walk down the hall or take the elevator to argue with each other. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they settled disputes with sumo suits in a makeshift arena in the office.

He leads a rich and busy life. I am lucky enough to get to talk to him daily so I can pass on any Leona/Diana/Bird related messages, but he's taking a break right now to broaden his skills of an artist (and eat people's brains - Ironstylus).

Maybe so, but these are all traditions that are distinctly reminiscent of Ionian culture, so is the order simply widespread or did it originate in Ionia?

Perhaps the order was built in Demacia but was founded upon a combination of Ionian and Demacian traditions, or perhaps the order is so well travelled they gather the legends and methods of various cultures so they can find the most appropriate and effective means of doing things, for instances in Demacia it might be more traditional to anoint the dead so their souls are protected as part of a larger ritual, but sewing the eyes and mouth shut was easier, so they adopted the tradition from Ionia.

Makes me wonder if that order has ties to other similar organisations across Runeterra, like the Kinkou Order.

You've captured Olaf beautifully. His clear goals, his enjoyment, and even given new aspects to his personality. Makes me wanna take Olaf up to Top lane again.

Though I can't say his segments are my favorite, mainly because I cannot decide! The description of action is fluid rather than detailed (I prefer to write them detailed) which gives so much to the imagination. Mixing in jargon from the setting is a bit confusing, but it makes the atmosphere all the better.

I really love these. Wonderful writing! Makes me want to get back to writing. Damn college assignments and League!

Wow, Olaf totally stole the spotlight for me.

His segments, epic and action-packed are a contrast of the gloomy and dreadful Harrowing tone, that actually seems to enhance them.

While Miss Fortune is my favorite character in the game, Olaf has easily been my favorite part of this story. I love his segments so far!

Loving the Olaf bits in this story! One of my favorite Characters (been maining him off and on since I started playing, Brolaf too op!), and now some surprise Olaf is what seemed like a long, drawn out Bilgewater story line. Not that the Bilgewater story line is bad, just we need more Olaf in our life.

So far Shadows and Fortune can be broken up into 3 sections:

-Miss Fortune and Rafen vs Harrowing things -Lucian trying to take down Thresh -Olaf having the time of his fucking life

I'm really enjoying this. Good to see a consistent amount of high quality lore coming out of you guys instead of months of dead-air. I also want to thank you for FINALLY in all the history of LoL having a story that TEMPORALLY OCCURS AFTER ANOTHER STORY. It actually gives a sense of progress and movement in the world. Makes it feel more real.

Also if Rafen lives through this, could he be a champion? He seems like a really chill dude. I know Lore people don't work in the same department as the champion team, but if players like him enough they'd probably do something with him.
