We finally got lore progression (thats not region centralized demaci noxus etc.).

We got the answer to the question we've been wondering for years, is Aatrox the being or the weapon. He's the weapon according to http://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/vastaya-field-journal/.

I wonder if this means characters like oh and are all vastaya

In regard to Ali being a minotaur and Voli being ursine, they might just be differennt species of Vastayans.

Oh this is the first I've been this excited in a while.

I dont think Ali, fizz, rammus, or voli are just because it would be a huge shift from their old lore.

Ahri's a Vestaya. Before she was just Korean mythology. Wukong was monkey king ripoff. Rengar was just a ####ing bipedal cat. These lores all need cleaning up.

Zac's parent's are now dead, Yordles are spirits, I'm pretty sure Udyr has jumped regions a couple of times, Jayce is a doucebag, I'm not even sure if Komungo exists, Shyvanna's mom was trying to kill her and Tf and Graves don't hate each other anymore.

Zacs parents are dead but he is still what he was Yordles being spirits really doesnt change much about them as they were somewhat mysterious before as well. Udyr hasnt has a solid lore update yet to really say what he is Jayce, to me at least, always seemed like a douche, even if his old motives were a little less self serving. Komungo was never really described enough to be considered much of anything Shyvana is still what she was, just a different beginning. TF and Graves getting along was story progression.

Ali was a champion of a Minotaur clan. While he could be vastaya, it seems more likely, to me, that minotaur is a species and doesnt really look like a vastaya. Fizz was a protector of his race of underwater people who left and came back to nothing. I see he and Nami as some sort of underwater humanoids which i guess is close to vastaya but Nami looks closer to any of the drawings than fizz. Voli comes off like a bear who talks. I see the vastaya, from that story, as shapeshifters too so thats why i dont agree with them.

The Vastaya are an entire category of species, according to the story. You've got anthro animals like Rengar (the otter people), mishmashes of a bunch of animalistic traits (the first one we see in the story), and even humanoids with only a few animal features (Ahri), and every single one of them falls under the banner of "Vastaya." So every single one of these animalistic champions could be a species of Vastaya just as well.

What i meant to say is that whatever Fizz's species is and Minataurs might just be different types of Vastaya. Being Vastaya doesn't change who these characters are so not much of a huge shift.

Just think of Fizz n Ali being Vastaya the same way as rats and us are both mammals

Fair enough. I was thinking some form of shape shifting was required but it doesn't seem to be the case
