What Are The Aspects?

A celestial dragon is an exotic creature, and as such, Aurelion Sol seldom encountered any equals. As more forms of life emerged to fill the universe, a multitude of primitive eyes gazed up and beheld his work with wonder and breathless pondering. Flattered by this audience of countless worlds, he became fascinated by their fledgling civilizations, who crafted amusingly self-centered philosophies on the nature of his stars.
Desiring a deeper connection with one of the few races he deemed worthy, the cosmic dragon selected the most ambitious species to grace with his presence. These chosen few sought to unravel the secrets of the universe and had already expanded beyond their home planet. Many verses were composed about the day the Star Forger descended to a tiny world and announced his presence to the Targonians.

So we know that distant worlds exist in space, and that the beings on some of them have expanded across multiple worlds. The Targonians were one of these races. The old Yordle lore had the idea in it, that there was a "mother ship" which did not work anymore in Bandle city, giving the idea that they may have come from Space. New Yordle lore seems different, but the idea of space travelers has been revitalized in Targon lore.
A powerful magic now yoked Aurelion Sol, forcing him to wield his powers exclusively for Targon’s benefit. He battled chitinous beasts that tore at the fabric of this universe. He clashed with other cosmic entities, some of which he had known since the dawn of time. For millennia, he fought Targon’s wars, crushed any threats to its dominance, and helped it forge a star-spanning empire.
The Aspects are a part of it. We could presume that the people of Mt. Targon are "The Targonians" themselves, descended from them, or at the very least a colony under their influence. But there's still many unanswered questions. For one thing, to have a star spanning empire....you also need a way to GET there. Do they have a Stargate?

Except perhaps in this case, the Stargate travelers influenced an Ancient Greece like culture, instead of an Ancient Egypt like one?

Like any place of myth, Mount Targon is a beacon to dreamers, madmen and questors of adventure. Those who survive the arduous journey to the foot of the titanic mountain find a sky shimmering with celestial bodies; the sun and moons, but also constellations, planets, fiery comets that streak the darkness, and auspicious arrangements of stars. The people living at the mountain’s base believe these to be aspects of long-vanished stellar beings, creatures powerful and ancient on a scale beyond human comprehension. -Targon, Universe page.

Are connected to these Star Spanning Empire of Targon.
So these Aspects are either
- Humans who have 'Ascended' so to speak, not confusing it with Shurima's magic
- Outright Aliens using magic, technology, or BOTH to influence from afar
- Something else -though Aurelion Sol doesn't seem to acknowledge the Aspects as powers as old as himself (albeit he was forced to fight other ancient beings he had known). Perhaps they travel and move only 'spiritually' through Astral Projection, and in the case of Pantheon can take over bodies while keeping their 'true' body safe? Aurelion says that both Targon and Shurima are "crawling" with "demi-gods".
But there's something odd about this. If they are Aliens, or humans living in space...how and why did they become associated with particular well, "domains". Things like the Sun, and the Moon -I mean Aurelion made the sun. And it needs repairs anyhow. The Sun is not a god (like 
). So what is the 'Aspect of the Sun's ' connection to the celestial body? Do they have a space station orbiting it, or something like that?
In Aurelion's 'color story' (why are they called that?) Pantheon in a female body commands Aurelion to seal a gateway opened by the Void. If the Void can have a "gate" or portal if you will, then perhaps it is possible to create gates between worlds. Aurelion also mentions Pantheon's "Celestial kin" which might possibly imply 
and 
might have some connection. Though I think they are a different class of related beings.
The Void is a nightmarish dimension said to exist outside space and time, where terrifying living weapons were wrought to win an ancient and long-since ended war. Those few scattered grimoires and madmen that dare speak of the Void at all, speak of it as an infinite realm of unfettered creation, tortured landscapes of crazed organic machinery, magical weapon-looms and mountainous flesh-forges.

What sort of War are they speaking of?
I sort of wonder if there is a sort of LV-426 like place where it all began. But imagine this is not a creation of the 'gods', but a thing that should not be. A hubris committed by one of these star spanning empires. Perhaps this unknown culture tried to wage war against the Aspects/Targonians or other civilizations and were destroyed by their own weapons. It's hard to say. 
lore talks about the discovery of the 'World Runes'. Riot Tryndamere in post talked about 'World Runes' becoming more important back in '14, perhaps hinting at the Rework of Ryze in mid '16. People call the World Runes the 'Breath of the Makers'. And they have a corrupting power on those that hold them. For some reason I don't quite think them existing is a mistake of the 'The Gods'. I kind of believe that perhaps a space faring technomagical empire left them behind as a mistake.
Then we have to wonder. How many things have they created?
