You know, this Nid skin isn't the only skin in the game with this problem. A number of skins' splash art are bad & inconsistent with the in-game model due to this thing called "Giving the champ & all their skins an update without updating the splashes of the skins".I mean just look at the splashes of some of Garen Trundle & Tristana skins then compare them to the current in-game model.

Riot could certainly do a lot more to update the splashes of skins. But they're focused on updating the base splash art before updating skins splash art right now.Hopefully, once they're done with the outdated base splashes they'll move on to updating skins' splash art.

But it's gonna take a while because Riot let this issue stack up because of the number of VUs they produce with how little they update skins' splash art.In my memory, they only time they updated splash art for skins was the Pentakill update last year & the recent update to TwistedFate's Jack of Heart skin.Pentakill was because it came with the album while Jack of Heart was because of the Card skins' release. They still have a lot of work to do in terms of skins' splash art updates & it's only gonna get harder from here.

Hey RobinTheLegend,

The splash team has been working on updating older splash art - most recently you've seen a new base Anivia splash! :D

No one has it worse than Phantom Karthus

Not only is the splash art extremely ugly by todays standards, but the skin looks nothing like the splash art.

Even worse, the skin now looks almost exactly like the chinese version yet they didn't exchange the splash arts....

I think Riot stated in the past that they're not going to bother updating those splash arts because it takes too much time and resources that need to be spent on new content.

I question why they don't just commission an artist or two from Deviantart or someplace like that.

I feel League players honestly have no clue how long it takes to draw a legitimately good painting that fits the character while trying to please your dictator boss at the same time while companies also have to now find the money and decide if they pay the artist by commission or by hour.

They've talked about this in the past, it's possible this information has changed BUT: The plan at the time of the announcement was that they planned to update ALL of the out-of-date base splashes (your anivias) but, due to the time it takes to make a splash as well as the size of the art team that works on splashes (it is not large) the skins splashes (your french maid nidalees) would be worked on after a full run through of base splashes. However... since our last BIG splash art update, all we've gotten is the anivia splash update, I'm wondering what's taking so long...

And then when that's done, the number of skins splashes GREATLY out numbers the number of base splashes in the game, so I don't really know how they plan to tackle that.
