Somebody can beat Jax story wise? Discussion not an argument.

Okay so it's been bothering about Jax being this unstoppable Champion. That no one can beat him. So I'm just putting this up for debate but aside from some of the new champs that look like they could stomp him such as AurelionSol I do think think there is at least one champ who had the ability to beat him. I'm thinking Riven. And yes I'm a Riven main and yes this may be a little biased but this literally just came up to me while I was playing Riven vs Jax top last night so please here me out. Game wise Riven has always been good for me to use against Jax. Her skills allow her to hit Jax even when he's got his counter strike up. If timed correctly both can stun each other at the same time thus nearly negating the stun aside from having a little more than a second for Jax to strike first. Riven could block an Empowered strike with her E if timed and her ult, in my opinion, nearly, NEARLY, makes Jax's ult useless. And for my story wise theory that Riven could beat Jax: her ult. Riven came to the League after she broke her sword and is literally fighting with a weapon that is about 1/3 or 1/4 the size she's used to. Not only that but, going off of game play, but her sword was way more powerful when it wasn't broken as seen when she uses her ult to bring back it's full glory. Now here's what I'm saying: If Riven hadn't broken her sword and fought Jax with the weapon that she was use to could she beat him? And now remember Riven's got a time limit as of how much she can use her sword's full strength both game and I image story based too. If she had her sword without being restricted like Jax is could she actually stand a fair chance against him? Personally from what I've experienced through game play I think she would if not actually beat him in a very close fight. At this point Riven's sword at it's best is a bankai version of Torshiro's(think I spelled that right) in Bleach. (ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE WATCHED THE ANIME! IF NOT IGNORE THAT COMMENT) Like I said this may be biased but I haven't said that Riven WOULD win I'm just saying she COULD win. At the very most she'd give Jax an interesting challenge. Let's actually discuss this like it is not chance disregard everything I've said to back Riv. I know there's a lot going for Jax but I just don't know it if there is anything at all. If I missed something about Jax put it in and let's debate.

Jax's nemesis, Nemesis Jax can beat Nemesis Jax's nemesis, Jax

Even in the old lore, he wasnt THAT powerfull. Just because he won all the battles on the fields of Justice, it doesnt mean anything because the champions were controlled by summoners in that time and were limited by the skills of the summoners that were controlling them.

Outside the fields of Justice, champions were able to do more things aside from 4 skills and autos.

Anyways, i think that in a 1v1 duel, i think that Jax would defeat any champion that isnt a super magical being, inmortal creature or a wizzard, etc.

Somebody can beat Jax story wise?

Nautilus can given how he OHKOs Jax in "A New Dawn".

As for Riven: main issue with Riven's weak weapon lore-wise is that Jax is restricted to a weaker weapon lore-wise to give his opponents a chance, after thoroughly thrashing everyone in the league. If Riven upgraded to a god-sword, Jax would likely only need to upgrade to a real weapon to keep even.

Jax's lore if taken at face value would heavily imply none of the original 40 champions stand much of a chance against him, which are these guys if memory serves.

Alistar Amumu Anivia Annie Ashe Blitzcrank Chogath Corki DrMundo Evelynn Fiddlesticks Gangplank Heimerdinger Janna Jax Karthus Kassadin Katarina Kayle Malphite MasterYi Morgana Nasus Nunu Rammus Ryze Shaco Singed Sion Sivir Soraka Taric Teemo Tristana Tryndamere TwistedFate Twitch Veigar Warwick Zilean

Most notably this includes Nasus, Kayle, and Cho'Gath: a god, archangel, and an eater of worlds.

Still: Nautilus wrecks his face in 1 blow in A New Dawn, so it's hard to believe Jax's personal lore as fact over boasting. If Nautilus can backstab him with an anchor, kinda puts Jax on even ground with everyone else.

It is outdated lore and it was pretty bad written. A lot champion can totally destroy Jax in 1v1 imo.

Nope. Jax uses a lamp post, imagine if he had a real weapon, like a nuke to bitch slap people with while he laughs dodging the blast like a boss :D

LeeSin MasterYi or MonkeyKing maybe, simply because they're fairly experienced warriors with skillful combat capabilities, i think any of them would give him a run for his money in the ring

Fiora Probably stands a good chance at taking him.

I think of it this way: Jax is the most skilled combatant in Runeterra, but this doesn't make him unbeatable. In a one to one fight where both opponents, considering they were both humans (if Jax is human, idek) or 'normal', at the very least, Jax would win due to higher skill. Other champions have other special abilities (Riven's sword got rune magic; Ekko got his timewinder; every mage got magic; some got exceptional physical strength like Illaoi or Darius) that make them special. Jax's reason to be in the League is pure skill. Not saying others got no skill in their profession, but Jax just is the best. He isn't using any kind of magic, enchanted gear, hextech or even a real weapon. The only combatants I can think of right now are Fiora and Tryndamere, though the latter relies more on strength and instincts than tactics I suppose.

Something tells me Jax is going to be reworked into a celestial that is literally invincible in combat. It would make him the same as he currently was before (being the best), just modern.

Even though his current lore's no longer canon, I still believe that Jax is still waiting for a perfect opponent that might actually beat him in combat.

And just for fun, I made a new, noncanonical lore for him: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/J7JtzABH-lore-for-the-loreless

Malphite is literally a walking mountain. Look at his splash, one human soldier is about the size of one of his fingers. He is absolutely massive, and most likely completely solid stone.

I don't care how much skill you have, no lamppost is ever going to dent something with that much weight and density.

As for Riven vs Jax, if Riven had her original non-broken sword she could probably beat him. It would be a close fight though. But to be fair you'd also have to give Jax a real weapon, at which point he pounds Riven into the ground like a railroad spike.

In an actual fight, Jax wins. When he's against celestial beings so huge, it's not a fight. He gets crushed, though I like to think he's fast enough to not die to malphite.

"Imagine if I had a real weapon"...I think Jax wins :o...of course I have no idea what the lore is for either champ so I could be wrong.
