Hello Ladies and Gents, I'm horrible with introductions so lets just be quick about this. This thread is about Soraka's lore and the inconsistency behind it.

Part 1: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/FwHRGkqZ-sorakas-lore-and-the-inconsistency-within-part-13 Part 2: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/IN6KILEN-sorakas-lore-and-the-inconsistency-within-part-23

In this thread I will be talking about Soraka and her followers and her influence in Ionia while she was in the grove. So without further ado:

Now before we start, let's do a little roleplaying. Pretend that you are a native of Ionia. You were traveling from one town to another and tragedy struck. You can take your pick on what happened, a mugger stole you currency and left you horribly wounded/ you decided to be a little exploitative and eat that odd mushroom and now you feel like your going to keel over/ make up your own near death story. You are halfway from getting to the next town and it would take over a day just to get there, sadly your time is far more limited than a day. You're going to die. Luckily, you've heard of a rumor of an unusual creature, a star child as you remember, that can heal any wounds and cure any disease that lives in an ancient grove nearby. These are nothing but rumors and fairy tales but you are getting really close to deaths door and you're a little more susceptible to believing these little fairy tales. You're options are limited and you might as well give it a shot. You struggle to get there but after some time you find the grove and to your surprise the unusual creature, this star child. The woman sees you are obviously dying and without a word rushes to your aid, healing and caring for you. In a matter of a few minutes, you went from nearly dying to being healthier than ever before. You almost can't believe what just happened, you thank the woman profusely and ask what does she want in return for saving your life. She simply shakes her head and says, "I only desire for you to live. May the stars guide you."

Now with this event that transpired, what would you do? Would you keep this story to yourself? Or would you start blathering to family and friends once you got home? I don't know about anyone else but I would start blathering.

From the lore, it is told that Soraka has been around for quite some time. So isn't it kind of odd that the lore kind of implies that she doesn't seem to be that well known? I mean, Warwick was able to bring a dead body to Soraka, and was able to convince to leave her and try to kill her and no one was around to intervene? Let me back up and explain why I find this so weird.

Like I said before, Soraka has been around for centuries. Possibly longer than Ionia even got it's name. Now given how easy it is to reach her, from the last section, and how long she has been around, we have a creature from the stars that could heal any wounds and cure any disease and people didn't pay her any mind? Lets face it, Soraka is a miracle maker and miracles can make people gather. Plus, due to she has been around long enough to repeat the miracles, rumors about her should have continued to spread. Remember, Soraka had to have been known well enough that Warwick knew of her existence.

People usually build towns and villages on fertile lands or near a lake/river. Building a town near a grove with a astral being inside that will heal any wounds at no price seems like a good idea. So why didn't they? Why wasn't there a village surrounding the grove? Given how easy it is to access and given it is considered a very valuable resource, Why wasn't there people guarding the grove? Why was Warwick given such easy access?

From my understanding, in her lore and what I could gather from Wiki she only seemed to gain recognition after she fell from grace. What was stopping people from knowing that Soraka actually existed before hand? In Sorakas old lore, she was actually considered a Goddess that even champions like Karma recognized. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore, from my understanding, and I don't know why that is.

That's it for part 3 and the final part of this theory crafting. I hope you all enjoyed it and I personally hope some Rioters could give some insight on this. Other than that, what does everyone think? Does it seem odd that Soraka only got famous after she left the grove or is there a perfectly good reason and I just missed it?

How did Warwick gain access? He is a tricky one. Let's not forget, he did kill Urf.

The ionians are pretty traditional and spiritual and stuff They most likely respected Sorakas grove as a holy place that should not be touched by them.
