Is there going to not be a Challenger skin this year?

In it's current state Challenger was just 'Red Anti-thesis to Championship', so we wanted to hang onto Challenger and workshop it a bit more to dig into what makes this skin line cool.

I think it might have been a bit shallow, but there's room for depth comparable to the Championship skins.

For example - from what I've been told, the Championship/Victorious skins were given to champions who had a strong showing that season; if not in pro-play, then in solo queue.

Challenger could be the same, but opposite; skins for champions projected (By Riot) to become dominant picks this season. For example, with the Assassin rework and the addition of Lethality, Challenger Talon or Kha'Zix could have been this years skin.

A Challenger skin for a champion from a class that is updated during the preseason update sounds like a really good idea.

Like Talon has done training, and now with his new kit he is ready to challenge other champions.

sorry if its too much to ask but was there a particular reason why there wasnt an all star skin this year?

the fact that the community could pick a champ and which ever team won (fire/ice) that champ would get a skin for that element

a simple skin idea like that is always liked

+Riot Ve1Vet Hey Riot Ve1vet I hope i'm not bugging you but I just wanted to put my own two cents on this. I honestly feel the Challenger Ahri skin doesn't hold up to the riot standard of high quality- comparativetely to other Ahri skins. Now. What do I mean by this? Obviously it's a pretty big claim. But my reasoning for it is. A skin should just feel awesome to use right? Where with the Challenger Ahri skin compared to the newer Ahri skins just is like "I mean yah it's alright but it could be better." A lot of my friends who main Ahri feel the same way some of them saying flat out it's their least favorite skin. I'n my opinion I honestly love it it just could use a little love to it. I honestly feel what would make it like pop as it's really unique idea you guy's are going for is adding like a purple glow to Ahri's tail's you know what i'm saying? Obviously this is just my personal opinion with a slight bias to it but I just felt like sharing my two cent's either way I hope you have a wonderful night/day and good luck with the other Challenger skins i'n the future it's a really awesome concept and one i'd love to see more developed.

Just to throw ideas around, let's get to know that the purpose of the challenger skins was to celebrate or at least acknowledge the beginning of a new season. I agree that it does seem like the red anti-thesis of the championship skins which isn't a bad thing. But I would guess that a more precise reasoning would be that not many champions can fit the current thematic/ coloring. It does feel like the pink/red coloring works best with female champs and not many male champs would look fashionable with that trend. The white though can probably stay and be used as a base.

I personally like the color white because it signifies purity and more than often translates like a blank slate. So having white mixed with any color (like Red or pink for females like Ahri/ Nidalee) would be perfect. Mixing colors like white as base, black as a second base, and yellow trimming would be interesting. But importantly the design of the skin needs to say that this is their prime version and they are ready to take on any challenge. For example, you can take a look at a game called Warframe where each designed character has slick primed variant.

(What to do with Ahri/ Nid to be inline with new design? Probably just change their initial colors, make the now skins chromas. Those who've owned the skin for a good length of time can get to keep the chroma?)
