Come on you just can't heal by swinging your axe. Not to mention his supernatural power once he achieves his battle mode called Noxian Might. Is that another darking thing?

No, Darius is in no way connected to darkin or magic. In game abilities aren't meant to be taken that literally. If they were then Caitlyn/Twitch/Nidalee/Sivir/Gnar have infinite amounts of ammo/spears/whatever anyone throws, Jinx has super strength, Draven has telekinesis and can manipulate his axes to jump back to him, Vayne can summon bats to make her invisible but only when her big crossbow is out and Fiora can dodge a galaxy thrown at her by thrusting her sword.

I think of his abilities to be based on like a berserker. The more he hits the more emboldened he feels, he loses his limitations and that's when he gets his Noxian Might.
