A Modest Proposal: Shen's Lore/Visual Update (Part 3 of 4)

If you read part 2, then you know I've added a lot to his lore which I think provides quite a few options to his visual update. Personally I'm mostly indifferent to the visuals except that they should make sense to his story and to his role in game. He's staying a tank/fighter but his visuals can comfortably drift from the ninja core he started with.

Option 1: The Ronin Shen can be depicted at the very start of his journey, where his severance from the order is not a smooth as he hoped. He must try and escape the Kinkou orders hold of him and has gone back to his father's school to seek aid. He leaves in a rush wearing a modified traditional Kinkou Order Seers uniform to conceal his identity. He will pick up katanas and kendo-like armor which he adds on top of any other pieces of equipment he'd find useful. Overall his visuals will be steeped in the Asian influenced Ionian motifs but will be a mix of improvised ninja and samurai styles. Samurai armor to help connotate the tanky fighter idea but be grounded in light clothing to play up the nimble escape from danger.

Option 2: The Traveler We can have his main visuals be that of a road wary traveler. He's seen and done a lot and picked up a few new tricks. Shen should still have Ionia style clothing as a base, silk kimono robes, ninja shozoku or what have you. But his accessories and armor will be more eclectic as he gains odds and ends as he travels and replace what worn out or broken with better equipment. Likely most of it will be carried on his back or upper body, giving the illusion of bulkier tanky persona. Weapons can be a mix style of swords and could include mystical antiques picked up at other Kinkou schools. This would give reason to one of his abilities to being called "Vorpal Blade".

Option 3: The Twilight Awakened Shen is closer to the climax of his tale. He has found the ancient temple of The Twilight. The Kinkou sect grounded in the Targon/Rakkor styles (whatever that may be with the hopefully upcoming Targon update). Shen finds a random assortment of ancient ruined armor emblazoned with the Twilight Star motif. While the armor is falling apart the metal star accents remain true. He fashions himself clothing and armor that fits in well with the locals but has Ionian flair that he finds more comfortable. He is now closer to the true ninja's that hide in plain sight.
