Seriously, I Want Raw Bad Guys, Villains Who Are Misunderstood.

This whole Lissandra lore change as well as a few other lore changes like Swain's are slowly eliminating Villains who are just inherently EVIL. People who want to conquer or destroy for literally their OWN personal twisted gain. I want a Villain champion who is a Villain simply not because he has a valid reason other than he is completely selfish and absorbed in a power craze.

More and more champs are starting to have some kind of "reason" for being bad as if they are misunderstood. I find this to be an edgey philosophic change more in tune with the dramatics of eastern culture.

It's subtle changes like this that start to have large impacts and no wonder the game has just gotten less and less popular in western countries and more popular in eastern ones. Just one of the reasons that is becoming more and more obvious today.

My humble opinion.

Motivations don’t take away from a characters villainy, they just contextualize it.

Brand Veigar Xerath MordekaiserAatrox

Aatrox: Has a motivation, and is a tragic villain, but he is undeniably a villain. Brand: I mean, he's been corrupted, but he's a remorseless, completely selfish villain. Chogath: He might work at the whim of the Watchers, but he's intelligent on his own (from what we know). And he's evil. DrMundo: A lot of people don't realize it due to his comedic manner of speech, but this man's an unrepentant serial killer. Elise: She sacrifices her followers to a spider-god in order to extend her lifespan. Enough said. Evelynn: HELL yes. Fiddlesticks: We don't know what his deal is, but I don't think he'll disappoint when he gets VGU'd. Gangplank: A pure human champion, with no corruption or external force. He CARVED INTO THE BONES OF A LIVING CREWMATE THAT DEFIED HIM. He's not unreasonable or insane, but he IS cruel. Very much so. Hecarim: This guy was a colossal jerk in life. Now he's the commander of an undead army. Jhin: One of the most well-written characters in League (YMMV), Jhin is messed-up, evil, horrific art at its finest. Kayn: Kayn is, to be fair, just an edgy ninja. Evil, but not much. RHAAST, on the other hand, is a cruel being who delights in carnage. Khazix: Kill. Consume. Adapt. See Cho'Gath. Leblanc: We don't really know what she does, but she's ruthless and insidious at best. Mordekaiser: Numero Uno and the Big Bad of the Shadow Isles, this guy is probably as close as you'll get to a complete monster in League. He was rotten even before he died. Nocturne: Another demon champ. A powerful and cruel one as well. Pyke: Probably at least somewhat under the control of an eldritch being, but c'mon. He's an evil stabby pirate revenant who wants revenge. On EVERYONE. RekSai: See Cho'Gath, although not really intelligent. Singed: Another evil human character, who dragged Warwick into his workshop and did all kinds of unholy experiments on him. Let's not forget that he's responsible for Riven's loss. TahmKench: The final demon champ, the most insidious of them all, it's the Kench. Thresh: Although evil due to corruption, he's still cruel and taunts his victims MERCILESSLY, as Lucian can attest to. Twitch: He may not come off as evil because he's mostly comedic. But he's screwed up a LOT of people down in Zaun. Urgot: Pain is strength. Only the worthy can live. Kill the weak. Pretty evil. Veigar: Laughable? Yes... for now. He will have his revenge. Vladimir: Has the potential to be this in a similar vein as LeBlanc. Xerath: Betrayed his emperor (although due to miscommunication) and now wants to take over Shurima as ruler.

League villains A-Z. I missed a few, granted, but you get the point. And even if some of the characters on here don't work for you (like the Voidborn), there are plenty of characters who are evil for the heck of it.

There's plenty to choose from in the champion roster.

I'm guessing that this post was inspired by Lissandra's update. I think that she's still just as ruthless, manipulative and ambitious as she used to be. She's just gone from a "I want to destroy the world" villain to an "I want to rule the world" one.

As far as I know, Lissandra's new bio is not well received In the Japanese community. I often saw this kind of opinion with a comment on her page of wiki. “I want she is dignified villain.” “Please do not press on the role of "evil" to Void.” "I do not want other villains to be badly altered just like her.”

The demons, Darkin, and many of the Shadow isles champions are just pure evil.

Of course, it is true that there isn't a lot of evil people.

well, sir, even in real life most offenders have somewhat a reason. - even in some you think "no, that cannot be the case" there is still a certain reason behind it - even for VERY disgusting ones. (not defending them, its still bad and disgusting what they do but i just wanted to underline everyone has a reason for everything. and every humanoid creator does things first of all for himself - normally)

I've only ever seen one character like that who wasn't just a 'bad character'(ie. poorly written, meaningless, has no place in the world, etc.) and that was Kefka.

The reality is that people have motivations. People are rarely 'just evil' or 'just good', so characters are often best if they follow that line as well.

I believe the reason is that it becomes very difficult to write content for characters who have no motivations. And thus they tend not to fit in anywhere, really.
