2018 Skin Lore Tournament - Jan 3rd: The Man With the Grinning Shadow vs The Slumber Party Summoning

The tiny tournament continues! [slayer-jinx-wink] The title for today's matchup, however, was not so tiny, so I shortened the date ever so slightly to fit the long titles, and I shortened the first story's title in the poll as well.

#2018 Skin Lore Tournament: Day 2

Today, we have the other two skin lore stories of the year: one from the first big event for the High Noon universe, and one from the variant skins for some of the Star Guardians. The Man With the Grinning Shadow tells both the past and present of High Noon Lucian: how he ended up losing Senna, and the vengeance he now seeks for her today. The Slumber Party Summoning depicts the Star Guardians as they are when not saving the world from dark forces: taking a well-earned vacation with a fun - albeit hectic - sleepover.

The Man With the Grinning Shadow by Jared Rosen

High Noon Lucian was once a federal marshal, keeping the West in line with the help of his wife, Senna, and the trusty aim of their guns. After an encounter with the sadistic devil Thresh, Lucian lost both his wife and part of his soul. Now, struggling with the hellish corruption threatening to consume him, he takes a journey to New Eden to see if he has any chance to get Senna back, and to claim his revenge.

The Slumber Party Summoning by Ariel Lawrence

Even the Star Guardians need a vacation from saving the world every so often, and tonight, that's precisely what they do. After facing quite the ordeal together in the summer, Lux hosts a pajama party for all the Star Guardians to come together, get to know one another, and eat some delicious food from Pantheon's Pastries. While their original meeting and battle at Camp Targon may have created tension between the two groups, a relaxing slumber party seems to be the perfect thing to bring them together.

Definitely closer today than yesterday, but the poll is decided! With 29 to 11 votes, The Man With the Grinning Shadow moves on to the finals to compete against The Lure, while The Slumber Party Summoning goes against Interview: Inside K/DA for third place in today's new poll.
