For those who expected an Aurelion Sol skin, remember the Chinese Zodiac.

there are twelve animals signs in the Chinese zodiac. every year, and by extension anything Chinese new year related, is themed after one of these signs until it resets back to sign one on year thirteen. the signs, in order, are:

  1. Rat (so prob twitch, but Riot will have to make him shower first and good luck with that)
  2. Ox (Alistar, which would be neat since most of his skins are from the "chroma with it's own splash art" era.
  3. Tiger (Rengar or Nidalee)
  4. Rabbit (wait, do we even have a rabbit champion?)
  5. Dragon (THIS is when the boop master shines)
  6. Snake (Cassiopeia)
  7. Horse (Hecarim)
  8. Goat (Ornn)
  9. Monkey (Wukong)
  10. Rooster (Azir)
  11. Dog (Warwick and Nasus, and the theme of the current lunar reval event)
  12. Pig (Sejuani's boar i guess?)

and with a bit of counting, Sol's skin is scheduled for.... 2024... okay you can be a lil upset, but you see what Riot is going for with lunar revel's flagship skin selection now, right?

as for those few who say sols skin would be boring, you seem to have forgotten his initial concept

Yeah but then why give one to lux at all? How is she relevant to the year of the dog?

u guys are grasping at straws bringing up human champions like lux or garen. a human champion could get a new years skin any year, an animal not so much. they made cait into a snake because cass already had a new years skin. aurelion sol is literally a dragon, they arent making the dragon into a dog or any other animal when dragon is on the zodiac end of story.

Some people really think League will still exist in 2024 ? I don't think so personally

I'm still kinda salty that they skipped over Hecarim in the year of the horse,Hecarim in Samurai armor and with a naginata would have been awesome and there was pretty much no reason to ignore him.

Also I'd say that Kindred is also a fitting pick for the year of the goat,as it is also known as the year of the sheep and lamb is the active aspect of the duo.

I feel like it was primarily so he doesn't have two Lunar Revel skins, because in 2024, he WILL be getting that dragon skin.

Still, I hope he gets a skin soon.

i wonder if Sej ever get a Lunar skin based on what you said , that would be a unique skin for her since most of her skins have this pale/cold theme and lunar is mostly red and warm colors.
