If you're going to update Syndra's lore...

Please build upon her current lore and personality, don't just completely rewrite her or anything.

The way I've seen Syndra; is that she was born with immense power and capability to achieve greatness with her magical powers, but because Ionia (or Karma) feared her power as destructive, they sent her off to be homeschooled all her life in order to limit her powers, causing her to kill her master and live in solitude. She now resides as a super naive teenage girl with the power to blow up the universe.

I want to see more of this, such as how she felt after realizing how much everyone fears her power, and a build up on her "power hungry teenage girl" personality.

Since her lore has nothing to do with league, I don't think there's much to change. They'll elaborate on things like they did with Vi.

Personal hope is that they fiddle with timings froem the old lore such that she enters the Ionian scene during the Invasion, and showcases what raw power like her's can accomplish. There's already political tensions running in Ionia now so having her as a part of that, even if only because she inspired others to look for change, would be cool in my book. Though that might just be me.

I find it hard to imagine who didn't participate in the war. Oddly enough, I'm curious as to how Zed and her are able to roam free. You'd think they'd be considered criminals like Yasuo.

I suppose it depends on how things are viewed across Ionia. Obvious murders of their masters aside they probably did some good for Ionia's people during the invasion. So very fucked up stuff perhaps but in the end Ionia won out so it worked. Considering some folks are considering pushing for great change in Ionia folks like Zed and Syndra could be iconic figures for such change.

Syndra is known to the Ionians as this near omnipotent sorceress who wrenched a temple and suspends it above the land as a symbol of dominance and yet she's not stated to be doing anything at the moment my guess is the authorities dont want to wake up a metaphorical sleeping beast

it seems the story of her being betrayed and going reclusive was many years ago because she doesn't look or sound teenage at all

I'd rather she'd be rebuilt into a proper 'revolutionary' leader.

Much of the core foundation of her story is pretty solid, but the 'tie in' to rest of Ionia was dropped fairly hard. She was written into a corner by living up on her floating fortress without servants, without any desire to be involved in governance or change except 'kill people who try to stop her', and possesses no relatable characteristics you'd want from a main scene character. As is, you'd expect to run into her like a run-of-the-mill raid boss, and not a sovereign ruler.

There's an interesting dynamic to be found in Ionia being tugged along by her ambitions for change, and her country potentially heading to an era of 'Imperial China', than what it is right now. And that's just skimming the surface of what her involvement would entail in Ionia, then there's what her own personal ambitions will be doing.

Though, I am hopeful her involvement is separate of this 'dark council' that's supposedly in Ionia. By the sounds of things, their goals won't align with hers in making a grander Ionia ...

to be a revolutionary leader you should care of some idea which considers other people

she cares of her personal power, to get reclusive is only natural for her then

i rather wonder why she is portrayed as a villain when she only killed one guy in a duel after he betrayed her and threatened to do a much worse harm to her too

To create a world for herself and mages like her, who are oppressed by Ionian culture, that would be a cause for others. From that, she'd probably fall into the necessities of handling the peasantry and like, then the war with Noxus requires more direct intervention ... so on.

Rebelling against your ruling culture and people is a very 'evil' thing in Asiatic designs, typically.

Syndra caring for her own power is just one facet of a character, and to base all of her upon that singular thing is doomed to be a boring character. Someone with (nigh) limitless power is less interesting than one who has some degree of power, but has a world they actually interact with. Hence, if she will have this great potential firmly in her control, having her struggle with reconciling her own power with her envisioned position in Ionia ... there's the story, really.

Ryze didn't need his lore changed or redone either but Riot still destroyed his character in favor of the hapless nobody he now is. I'm sorry to say, but they will most likely, like 99% certain, retcon Syndra's lore.
