A Question About Lissandra's Magic, and Inconsitencies In Her Lore
So, within her bio, it says that she was already powerful in her own right, but then made a deal with the Watcher's in exchange for more power. It also implies that Black/Dark Ice, the magic she uses, is simply True Ice that has been corrupted by the Void.
"The monstrous beings she had frozen were merely slumbering, slowly tainting the True Ice around them into something darker."
However, it also states on her Universe page, "The truth is perhaps more sinister, as she uses her elemental magic to twist the power of True Ice into something dark and terrible, entombing or impaling any who would reveal her deepest secrets."
So is Black/Dark Ice corrputed by the Void or Lissanrda, or is it because she was given powers from the Watchers, she to can use their "essence" and corrupt it the same way they do?
If my second guess was correct, this only opens up another hole in her story; Why would she want to corrupt True Ice?
She's supposedly actively searching for as much True Ice as she can find in order to halt the Watchers and keep them frozen, so corrupting it doesn't make any sense. Also, if Black/Dark Ice is True Ice that has been corrupted with the essence of the Void, that raises even bigger questions as to why she would corrupt it, since that would mean she's spreading the power of the very beings she's trying to stop.
This question doesn't have much to do with Lissandra or True Ice directly, but the original Iceborn were given their powers from the Three Sisters, who in turn were given their powers from the Watchers, so doesn't that mean that all Iceborn have some part/essence of the Void within themselves?
Finally, we have conflicting lore on how True Ice is made. On the Freljord Universe page, it says that True Ice occurs naturally over time, but in Lissandra's bio, it clearly implies that she made True Ice herself, when creating the barrier that's keeping the Watchers dormant.
"In that moment, her only choices were to let all the world be consumed, or to give up what she cared for most—Lissandra sacrificed her sisters and the allies they had gathered, entombing the Watchers beneath a glacial barrier of magical ice that could never be melted."
So does True Ice occur naturally, but it's actually the essence and power of an Iceborn after they've died, only transformed into ice, and Lissandra simply used her magic to advance this process at an incredibly rapid, almost instant, speed? Were this to be true, it only comes into more conflict wth what we know so far, because then that would mean, if my theory about the Iceborn having a piece of the Void within themselves were to be true, that would mean True Ice is also touched by the Void. Then what's the difference between True Ice and Black/Dark Ice, if they're both touched by the Void?
