Why are these luchador skins hated? I think they look awesome. As a fan of luchador themed stuff, these are a great addition in the line with El Tigre Braum.

I have nothing against the theme, in fact I pretty like Braum's, but the rest is just ugly, mostly because of the colors, but the models themselves are not a treasure.

And I thought Beast hunter line was bad...

That's a little offensive. They aren't all that bad. Mundo's is pretty good and Gnar is also pretty cute. I don't know about Volibear because I haven't seen him.

The playerbase of this game is very diverse, with wildly varying tastes.

Riot can't get away by releasing just brooding grimdark skins.

El Leon Gnar is pretty cool. Though I think his little Gnar form should look mor like a lion.

You clearly are not familiar with Luchador style wrestlers. These skins hit that style dead on. In Mexican traditions they wear masks and use the vibrant, contrasting colors. As you see, the bright crazy colors are very accurate. These skins look great, so I don't see the issue.
