Nations of Runeterra & Lore Events

  • Noxus vs Demacia
  • Shadow Isles vs Bilgewater
  • Zaun vs Piltover
  • Ionia
  • Shurima
  • Targon
  • Freljord (3 way power strugle)
  • Bandle City

We have around 11 major cultural centers. What ones deserve future lore events?

I really want to see one for Targon, as its arguably the smallest with only 3 champions. I'd like to see an extended 4 month event, with two champion releases, and a new map.

Another question is, once they do all of them....should they invent or discuss some new land or...revisit some areas? Freljord part 2?

I'm assuming the 3 are, obviously Pantheon, Leona and Diana.

If you think about it, though, Kalista might be from Mt. Targon as well. Her armor and weapon both hint at towards Mt. Targon. I mean, I don't know if anyone's actually looked into that or has theorized that, but I doubt anyone knows where Kalista is actually from

I always hear about her being from the Shadow Isles, which makes absolutely no sense outside of her personality (Even though she's a champion based completely around vengeance, like Varus, but the kicker is that she makes a pact with the one seeking it.), her ghastly appearance, and her abilities.

But I'm pretty damn sure she was originally from Mt. Targon before she got ultra-rekt and decided to consume thousands of souls in her "rebirth".

but hey, I could be wrong!

Mount Targon, Ionia and Bandle City seem like the obvious ones to me to get an event, as they're the most unexplored regions of Valoran for various reasons:

  • Targon's always been this blip on the map that exists but isn't anything major, yet has some of League's most memorable champions. Ripe with potential.
  • Ionia's got a ton of champs but we've never delved in to its history or anything, plus we have to figure out where it stands now that the League's gone and Noxus still controls the southern provinces.
  • Bandle City reflects Yordles and how they need development. We're getting there with the likes of Trist and Heimer but what the hell does the homeland of the Yordles actually look like?

The other areas are better established now but could still have some stuff I feel.

  • Demacia and Noxus have always been the most grounded and understood of all of League's nations. Some ingame exploration wouldn't hurt, plus some delving in to their individual histories.
  • The Shadow Isles I could see getting a new event if they ever release the Ruined King as a champion or something similar. Would love to get an actual Harrowing event on a Bilgewater map or something.
  • Shurima's event helped establish what it was and where things are going with the Ascended, but I wanna see an event focus on the desert and what's going on there. Particularly in the south with all the nasty Outerbeasts and stuff. Could imagine a horde mode with void creatures as the enemies.
  • Freljord could use another event to be more about actually warring rather than setting the stage for war.

Invasion of Bandle City (Noxus vs Bandle City) is most likely the next lore event.

Freljord and Shurima we have already hit and have a pretty solid idea of what's going on with them for now (War of 3 tribes, Azir rebuilding the empire)

We are getting the Bilgewater event soon...

Noxus and Demacia we know more about than basically any other region....so I doubt we would get anything major from them anytime soon

Zaun, Piltover, Bandle City, and Ionia we have decent information on what their culture is like and how things are run...they could use some attention, but there are bigger targets.

IMO, the number one region to hit next for a big event is without question Mt. Targon. There are currently only 3 champs hailing from it. There are champs like Alistar who could be easily moved over (honestly as a minotaur he makes perfect sense for that region). And its in general ripe with potential.

After that I'd say something for the Jungle regions. Once those area's are given some development then I could see them bringing Zaun/Piltover/Ionia/Bandle City up to Noxus + Demacia levels.
