Vastaya are all over Runeterra. There are flying vastaya, sea vastaya, snowy land vastaya etc

I thought the ionian lore said vastyia are largely only in ionia because its rich in magic and they do poorly and quickly deteoriate in health in outside of vastyian forests. there are sea vastaya like nami yea but they are the general vastaya that are talked about

Vastayan needs magic, yes, however they are not exclusive to Ionia. In the sea near Mt. Targon lives the Marai (Namis tribe), Rengars home is somewhere in east Shurima. Ionia does have a lot of magic, so ofc there are a lot of Vastayan. Demacia, with their petricite walls, is probably not so good for the Vastayan.
