So, as many were predicting, judging by the splashes and the way the skins look in game, Viridian Kayle and Blackthorn Morgana seem to be part of the Eclipse universe, likely with Viridian Kayle being connected to Emerald Taric (as their thematics are similar) and Blackthorn Morgana being connected to the Coven. This could be an awesome opportunity in-between events to show us more about the Eclipse universe and what it's like, especially about the Elderwood and the Emerald Chapel.
However, in a Twitter thread here: https://twitter.com/thejanellemj/status/1098038639362076672 Riot Stellari said that they are "not yet" part of Eclipse, as in, they "can add them later if they want". Stellari was also talking about moving her in with Emerald Taric, Nottingham Ezreal, and Sherwood Forest Ashe to be part of some separate elf universe...
Now, I have a problem with this, as many skin lore buffs would. First of all, Emerald Taric cannot simply be "moved". He is firmly planted in the Eclipse universe. His splash art here: https://www.mobafire.com/images/champion/skins/landscape/taric-emerald.jpg literally has him healing Elderwood Hecarim, and Eclipse Leona has two interactions with him. He has a skin lore bio talking about his place in the Emerald Chapel.
And about that Emerald Chapel, since it's a chapel, that suggests it might have patron angels or gods of some sort. And that is precisely what Kayle and Morgana are. If you compare the color schemes and armor styles of Taric and Kayle up there, they are clearly very similar and connected in some way, showing that Viridian Kayle is perhaps a patron angel of the Emerald Chapel. Concerning Blackthorn Morgana, perhaps she, too, was a patron angel of the chapel, but "fell" and began to use dark magic that is perhaps related to the Coven (and if you look in both Coven Camille and Coven Lissandra's splash arts, you can see that black thorns are a prominent feature: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/3/39/Camille_CovenSkin.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/640?cb=20181108205423 https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/0/03/Lissandra_CovenSkin.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20181108210012).
And lastly, although it's not as set-in-stone as Emerald Taric, Nottingham Ezreal is part of the Rift Quest universe, as a very handsome Rogue-Paladin elf who likes to go by the name Jarro Lightfeather. That skin, as well as Ezreal himself, definitely better fit the lighter, cornier, and 4th-wall-breaking environment of the Rift Quest universe. Concerning Sherwood Forest Ashe, I would definitely want and suggest her going in this universe too, since she is also a green-clad archer with a name alluding to the locations of the Robin Hood tales.
So please, Riot, put Viridian Kayle and Blackthorn Morgana in Eclipse, and in doing so, tell us more about that universe! Everyone's loved Eclipse since the universe was brought together, and we're always asking for more! This is your opportunity to hold us over until the next real event!
P.S. While I do think those four skins should stay in those two respective universes, I would actually really love a multiverse crossover with Eclipse and Rift Quest. Unlike Odyssey crossing with Event Horizon, which was probably caused by some sci-fi wormhole portal space thing, these two universes could be connected through a Narnia-esque fantasy portal, or several. Have the totally ultimately evil Veigar Graybeard battle the actually sadistic Death Blossoms and Coven. Contrast the serious paladin Eclipse Leona with the very self-aware tanks Braum Lionheart and Sejuani Dawnchaser. I know such a big event would probably happen a long time in the future, but I just want to say that I'm not against these two universes meeting and all and I actually think it would be awesome. Maybe even throw in Omen Of The Dark for a truly dark and gritty fantasy universe to contrast both of them.
