Could the Maiden of The Mist Be...

The Ruined Kings Wife that he was trying to restore?

Disclaimer: If someone has brought this idea up already or something else like that I apologize sincerely, I can be out of the loop at times

This idea comes to me for 2 big reasons

1

The way she talks about him when Yorick buys the Blade of The Ruined King, praising him and speaking good about him, as if he knew him well, and who better to know the man then his spouse?

2

She was the source of this Black Mist mess to begin with, and in Hecarium's lore especially it has been seen just how much of an a change this mist can cause, so it would be possible for her to have been changed into the being she is now

And furthermore, twisted by the Isles dark powers, as many have been.

This was just my 2 cents on the crazy lore we have in this game

Whatcha guys think?

I thought she was confirmed to be an embodiment of the mist itself?

I think not.

  1. Calls him father
  2. The Spouse, as shown by the altar, clearly is against the undead. The maiden is for.
  3. The maiden wants the expansion of the undead, the spouse wants it undone.

I have a hunch that the form that the Mist took- the Maiden- is related to the King's wife, the Queen.

Probably not physically, because I doubt that the Queen herself looked as messed up as Maiden is, in life, but in a symbolic sense. Similarly to how Hecarim's current form is of a half-man, half-horse (centaur-like, basically), because he was a great general and rider in life.

Im convinced that The King and The Queen were introduced in the game with the first update of The Twisted Treeline... and it makes sense so far. My Theory says that they are the Spirits from the Altars of Twisted Treeline:

Here is a copy paste of my old post:

... What if i told you that its possible that the Ruined King is already in the Game?

The East Altar of the Shadow Isles, the Lord who lost her wife... and memory.

Who else, but him, tried to do everything to revive her wife?

You have to consider that almost all the characters from the Shadow Isles have a connection with the Ruined King, they all mention him at some point (Except Elise, but she is a queen of the spiders who needs no king)... Even the Lady Altar says "For the King!"... But the Lord? he never mentions it... Why? Because he IS the Ruined King (according to this theory)

http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/b/b8/WestAltar.Special3.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20121120195754

This theory is also supported by the fact that the Lady is one of the few characters from the Shadow Isles that remember the past... and she knows who was Hecarim (before he was "consumed by the darkness"). Why she knew Hecarim before the insident? Because she was the Queen.

Now, with the new lore of Maokai, this theory makes more sense considering the quotes of the Female Altar that say:

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/6/61/WestAltar.Generic3.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20121120195453 http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/8/8b/WestAltar.Generic4.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20121120195453 http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/c/ce/WestAltar.Generic19.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20121120195609

The lore of Maokai say that "Reanimated as a rotting corpse, the queen begged to return to death."... Why would she want that? Because as my dear zombie of Zaun say: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/0/0f/Urgot_Select.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20121120025828

It would not make sense for her to like her current form (Its clear that Maiden of Mist agrees with being what it is) considered what she said... and Riot said that The Maiden is many souls and the mist itself.

I originally thought it was his wife.

Doesn't the maiden refer to the Ruined king as a "father"?

Keepe9/9/2016, 10:12:50 PM1 votes

Based on how she praises the Ruined King, I'd disagree. There is a distinct disconnection from the way she speaks of him. Sure, it implies she knows him, and what he did, but it comes off as a fan-girl more than it does a spouse.
