Thoughts on Xayah's quote "I prefer to work at night, because, y'know, the sun? Bright? Yuck!"

Or even: Killing an Enemy Lux "Wasn't she just a ray of sunshine? I hate sunshine."

When i 1st heard these quotes i thougth: wow, such an emo/dark/edgy champ. but then realised, she is a Vastayan, a human-bird, this could mean she has sensible eyes, and the sun actually hurts her.

aaaaand that s it

A lot of people prefer cloudy/rainy days. Disliking the sun isn't really emo or edgy, it could just be a preference.

Nah she's just emo.

I wonder if it's a quote that remained from one of their original designs as having a day/night cycle interaction? They were stronger at night, if I remember.

(That was what I remember of the AMA with Endless Pillows.)

I'm not bird and have extreme issues with great deal of Dishonored 2 missions when they have any element of outside because of the fekin' sun blinding me whenever I head to the fatal direction.

Even in Addemire where it's mostly dark due to cloudy weather there is that one spot.

I relate to that.

I think it was even mentioned once that Xayah was inspired by owls, while Rakan is based on a peacock.

So it would make sense that Xayah feels more comfortable when its dark as a lot of owls are nocturnal.

I hate the sun in real life. It's too damn bright, and I also have light sensitivity.

Unfortunately, California is called the golden state because it fucking glows like a forge.

I think it's her eyes, they are a very bright orange, perhaps as a Vastaya she is somewhat alike to nocturnal bird such as an owl.
