Where Do Morgana and Kayle Fit in Now? They Have No Lore Presence.

Ever since their reworks, they both have had no major and canon lore presence. What I mean by "no lore presence" is that, despite their lore mentioning them as being legendary in their own respects, they have no connections to the greater narrative of League that ties all the locations and characters together. This doesn't make sense considering, with the new direction the lore is taking with various factions being at unrest with each other, Morgana and Kayle would both take a side somewhere as they both hail from Demacia which is in the centre of this conflict.

Some examples of this are:

  • Morgana is against Demacia, which can be gathered from her quotes. All her quotes towards Demacians are negative as she left them to go into hiding after Ronas betrayed her, and Morgana sympathises with Sylas, claiming to have heard him in his cell and felt his anguish. That means she could become aligned with any faction that opposes Demacia, and considering her connection to Sylas, she could end up siding with the Freljord faction.

  • Kayle, seeing Demacia in turmoil, could descend from the heavens to smite those who oppose Demacia. This would also bring both Morgana and Kayle into conflict again, which could resolve their unfinished storyline together which ended with them parting ways. Their lore also mentions that Demacians worship/pray to Kayle, ("In times of strife and chaos, there are many who cling to the hope that Kayle might eventually return… and others who pray that such a day will never come.")

  • If Kayle descends from the Heavens in this time of turmoil as her lore suggests, Morgana may resurface from the darkness in reaction, fearing what Kayle may do to the mortals she wishes to protect.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents. I just feel like these two have been forgotten and unincorporated into the lore, despite this being a time where they should both be active, not still in their respective places of solitude.

... Well, yes, but actually no.

Morgana I will not forsake the land that shaped me. Nor the mistakes.

I don't think Morgana is against Demacia proper. I do think she disagrees with the way it has evolved - Demacia learned all the wrong lessons - But I highly doubt she would do anything against Demacia. Also let's not that she sympathized with Sylas when he was in his cell - I saw you in your cell Sylas. Heard your cries. Felt your anguish - but do remember that after that, he did terrible things, and I don't think she would ever side with him.

Kayle She's a bit more tricky, but not really.

Kayle would have a LOT to say about Demacia's evolution - You Demacians have lost your way - and I don't think she's gonna take any side. Truth be told, having Kayle join "the government" and Morgana join "the mages" would be a bad story. There's more interesting stuff to do with them.

I agree with your last point. I do think Kayle will come back to bring heavenly justice upon all of Demacia. And Morgana will definitely (hopefully) go and meet her in the skies again, and they will clash. Again. Which isn't that bad. Then I imagine they'll make up. Which isn't bad either. Then who the f knows.

But I do not disagree with the fact that their lore presence feels... Underwhelming. That's an issue with many immortal characters anyway. I hate that we have no idea about what Kayle and Morgana have been doing for the past millenia. With Kayle it's pretty easy given her motivations, she's likely been training with the Celestial Aspects to better serve her Justice. Morgana... Well. Let's just say I hope she won't just be a crybaby who's only cried for 1000 years. Give me my Celestial witch Riot pls... :(

I think that's exactly what's going to happen, I don't think Morgana is going to side with anyone but will return when Kayle comes back to stop the chaos or the final battle.
