Uh, yeah it does. It's a Hextech Crafting Exclusive, you cannot buy it in the store. You need either 10 gems or be lucky and get it from a chest.

I mean, Soulstealer skin theme doesn't make sense to be a hextech crafting exclusive skin. Why? Create another Hextech skin or whatever new hextech related skin theme but soulstealer theme doesn't make sense.

That's like saying they could have just moved all of the older Hextech skins into Exclusives, but didn't because they've been in the store for ages anyway.

It is a generic riot politic, they dont use their new system on old items, because it can affect the view of players on their trust. Example, new legendary sales don't include legendary skins that are before this announce.

Anyway, it is clearly a how to get more money way, I'm ok with though.

Here this is from Riot about the Vayne stuff Hey All!

Just wanted to give some extra context here. Soul Stealer Vayne is a new Hextech Crafting exclusive skin. You can obtain her as a rare shard drop from a mastery chest or by forging 10 gemstones. When you "forge" gemstones you get to choose the exclusive item you want to unlock. So if you have 10 gemstones, you can choose Hextech Annie or Soul Stealer Vayne.

We plan on adding new rare content a few times a year and these items won't always be in the Hextech theme (as with Vayne, duh ;)

We also know that as we add more of these rare items, it can be challenging to obtain them. In future Hextech Crafting promotions we will sometimes offer guaranteed pathways to a limited number of gemstones. We want to carefully balance not making these items too rare while also not invalidating rarity as a valuable content feature within League.

Exactly this. I already own soulstealer vlad and was looking to buy this one. Not to mention I hate every one of Vayne's skins up to this point and this finally presented something I wanted... ugh guess not.

I'd actually buy those if I could just get skins, but I can also get champion shards and I have all the champions. So in my mind it's just not worth the investment lol

This is honestly pretty disgusting to me. The grind for a single skin is absurdly long/expensive with very little a player can do about it. How is 100 dollars reasonable for a skin that's not even legendary tier?

If I worked for Riot I would honestly feel ashamed about the money earned from players e-gambling for exclusive skins.

she doesn't need a new skin nearly as much as other ADCs (Twitch, Sivir, Quinn, etc.)

Vayne actually hasn't gotten a skin in a looooong time compared to most adcs, along with twitch and Quinn I think. I recently went back and checked how many champs haven't gotten skins since before 2015, vayne was one of them along with like 15 more

Eh, it's cool but I'm fine with my Arclight Vayne skin and like others said it's not worth the headache of spending money hoping you'll get it from a chest. If you're a Vayne main and just HAVE to have it then good luck but I think Arclight is a fine skin for her.
