Tahm Kench is the Gambler?
Second post by me
- According to the Wiki Tahm Kench got his name from a gambler... But, what if this is meant to be taken literally... What if the Gambler's name was Tahm Kench. As we know from his background Tahm Kench (Current) is a River Demon... Notice the word Demon, it is common for demons to possess people, so, if Tahm Kench (Current) is in fact just a demon, then perhaps Tahm was infact the gambler.
Going through the background page, it says
"...Handsome Gambler ran, for he owed gold and blood, and yet had none to spare. Desperate and forlorn, he was about to change his path and walk away, when he heard a song that called on him, to chance his luck again."
The Gambler (Tahm Kench pre-possessed) owed gold, and blood (his life), but didnt have anything to give. Desperate to live, he follows the call of the river demon. Later, when the demon is speaking (Current Tahm Kench) he states
"Boy, the world's one river, and I'm its king. Ain't no place I ain't been. Ain't no place I can't go again... And the price is a minuscule thing. See, I got hungers that ain't easily fed. But those finest tables? They ain't never got a seat for me. So I need men, like yourself, and let me in."
"Boy, the world's one river" According to Rioter "WAAARGHbobo"
"He is a crossroads demon. Demons, devils, Vampires, all are a related Jungian archetype. They require letting the evil inside you.
Like many things about Tahm think of a river metaphorically." - Tahm Kench Q&A
The river is the soul of man Then again, you could take it that the gambler is actually Tahm Kench himself, and that he was just talking to himself, and the demon is actually his greed for gambling... Gambling "ate" the gifts, and house... In the end, it could have taken tahm's bride...
Rito, am I at all close (legit question)?
