There's no suggestion in the VO that the suit is sapient.
So long as Kai is feeding it, it is apparently okay with her doing whatever.
Yeah, hard to say since she barely mentions the suit at all. It's less a real character and more an excuse that she can wear to justify having powers. I don't think they plan to ever have it characterized. They barely put any character into Kai'sa herself!
If it would take her over eventually then I'd say it would have done so by now. I mean she wears that thing for years now.
