I've been playing League since the week after Leona Leona (A.L.) was released and the week before Wukong MonkeyKing (B.W.) was released. I've been really excited about Riot's work on lore in recent years, and I like how we're slowly learning about the unique regions of Runeterra. Let's think about the once Blessed Isles.

From what I remember, the Shadow Isles were originally like Mt. Targon - we knew they were a thing for years, but we only recently started to hear more about them. I think the Isles were originally only briefly mentioned in Evelynn Evelynn's O.G. lore, and Riot only began to flesh out the narrative surrounding the region much more recently, I think it was around the release of Hecarim Hecarim and Elise Elise. After that we began to learn more about a certain item 3153 Ruined King, and Riot turned the Shadow Isles into the spooky land of teal things. item 3508 Karthus item 3046 Maokai .

This was great, and I think the addition of the Shadow Isles as one of the major regions of Runeterra has really done a lot for the world as a whole. Since we have already learned so much about the Shadow Isles, I was really surprised by what I saw with the release of the Universe site. When looking at the "Visions of the Shadow Isles" I was confused by images that did not match my visions of the Isles.

So, two of the six images match what I think we've been told about the Isles so far. The "The sundered Vaults of Arcana" and "The crater that was once a grand gallery of ancient artifacts" both look like really good representative images of the Blessed Isles after they became a turquoise wasteland. It also sounds like the latter is actually Thresh Thresh's old work place when he was on that 9-to-5 grind. So that's cool.

BUT WHAT ARE THOSE OTHER FOUR IMAGES? "The Radiance of Alignments" and "The Athenaeum of Light" and "The Celestial Vault" and "The Hall of Conjunction" do not look like the Shadow Isles that I have been picturing. They also picture people, who look alive, and not dead. Are these just old images from the Blessed Isles? They look a little too Shadow-y to be from the Blessed Isles back in its prime. Are they regions of the Shadow Isles that are less corrupted? If that were is the case, then it means we still have something exciting to learn about the home of the Black Mist.

Is anyone buying what I am selling?

I just imagine that all the SL baddies live in the same place as morde or in his genral vicinity and they have their own buisness going on. Like thresh might have a torture room across from hecs quarters for his riders. Or karthus and morde would plan harrowings. Like its a court of undead politics or just a house filled with a bunch of buddies.

Probably what remains of the king's castle before everything turned evil

I think that those are probably images of what the Isles looked like before they became the Shadow Isles.
