I’m not even mad at Qiyana. Sure it’s wrong what she did, but she gave her sister a chance, and I’m more upset at how violent Piltovens are to the villagers.
We got ourselves a political character that isn’t from Noxus, and I’m excited for it.

Qiyana is a great lore addon, but sadly her design...
I really like Qiyana's story. She's definitely erring on the side of "villain", but that's part of what I like about her. She's haughty and royal but not in any position to be so high and mighty, so she has this constant need for attention and need to prove herself (something I think a lot of younger siblings have, especially when you're the youngest of many). Evil royal-type is a character niche we didn't have before. We didn't really have a "love-to-hate" type character either, which I'm sure she is such a character to many people at this point.
I also like that her sister wasn't really painted in a good light either. Sure she's pretty much entirely innocent, but she's lazing around in a palanquin when Qiyana arrives by going through the forest herself, her servant barely able to maintain a cooling mist for her. She's only a year older and yet is given way more responsibility and power, despite Qiyana's perceived capabilities. Its no wonder Qiyana has such a complex. That doesn't make it right that she set her sister up, but she has a point that if the worst were to happen, Qiyana is their best defense. Qiyana just doesn't realize that probably part of the reason she isn't given more power/responsibility is part tradition and part the fact that Qiyana, while very skilled, needs a huge attitude adjustment.
It makes me look forward to more stories about her character: will she learn and grow? Or will she remain stubborn and selfish and eventually get her comeuppance? Both stories could be interesting, and there are a lot of other factors (like potentially other Champions that could actually challenge her skill) that could spice it up even further.

Zileans story really intrigues me now, him wanting to rescue his fellow icathians seems like a much more manageable goal instead of undoing icathias destruction. In fact I'm pretty sure that this was done by riot, so that it opens up the possibility for more Icathia-champs since they can just explain their existence by letting Zileans story progress and undoing the spell that rescued the other icathians.
Malphites story finally gives him a place on runeterra, but I can't help but feel like this whole "last of their kind"-thing is a bit overdone by now considering that we also have 
and 
(and I feel like & 
are also in similar situations, with Skarner being the only active brackern and Ahri being potentially the only one of her kind). Though I did like his personality, even if we only got a glimpse of it.
And I really liked Qiyanas story as it solidified her as a villain in my opinion and she is actually a kind of villain that we don't have yet, one that manipulates the events around her to make herself look good. I'm just glad that she didn't turn out to be a "flawed hero", who is so flawed that you actually loose sympathy for them, because I feel like sometimes the lore team goes a bit too far when they try to make some of the heroic characters more morally grey.
As for Skarner: His story seems to be basically the same as before, so there isn't much of a change here.
Qiyana's story is... definitely something.
It makes her un-redeemable. It's a deliberate act that led to severe consequences (and she's aware of these consequences after the fact) yet she doesn't care for it. She's narcissistic to a fault. This isn't arrogance, she has severe mental issues. I'm not sure if it's psychopath or sociopath but wow.
I thought she was a bratty entitled kid before, now she's straight up Denarys mad queen levels of goofy.
