What are you expecting from the Frejlord lore update?

It is almost guaranteed that the region will get a lore update with 's VGU. Almost every champion from there has outdated lore and is in a need of an update. But sadly, riot has stated that we will only get smaller updates this year. This means that it's unlikely it will be like the demacia update where a total of seven champions got new lore and colour stories.

If riot is forced to chose 3-4 champions that will get a lore update, who do you hope it will be?

A minor Taliyah lore update. After Taliyah’s story with Yasuo, Taliyah ventures into the Freljord after meeting a lone fishing women near the sea, who will show her the Freljord.

All i would ask out of a Freljord LU is for something to help me start caring about its denizens. Since the lore all of them have never really engaged me like any of the other regions have. I mean I play the champs and enjoy most of them, their personalities are solid (or solid enough), but when it came to their individual lore its forgettable.

I generally have a good memory for all of the lore, but if i tried to recite the Freljord's I'd say "three factions are at war but neither groups have done much .. and some fuzzy alien-looking overlords are involved in some underdeveloped capacity." After that I draw a blank.

Ofc, Ornn is the big exception. But like even Braum is a bit forgettable. I dont know what that guy is meant to be about (apart from smiles and muscles) and his story just raises questions and uncertainties. In fact I'd say Braum is one of the few guaranteed for the Freljord LU, on account of having NO bio at all!

The Avarosa/Winter's Claw/Frostguard conflict should get a bit more detail, at the moment it's just diplomats VS barbarians VS a British lady and her troll who don't actually do anything. Especially with characters like Volibear being demigods now, their position would need elaboration.

Ashe Lissandra Sejuani ,with Nunu, they obviously take a Lore Update because they are the most important/iconic character of the Freljord. I doubt we have LU for the others.

Ashe : How Ashe united the many fractious tribes of the Freljord. How Ashe’s mother died.

Sejuani : How Sejuani rules the Winter’s Claw and how she and her people feel about Ashe’s pursuit of peaceful unification.

Lissandra : How her plan is progressing and what she did to advance it. Also, the origins of the Iceborn.

Nunu : How he lives in a country split between three queens and the wacky adventures he’s been on.

Tryndamere : His unification of the barbarian tribes and life with an undying rage. How this affects his family life.

Trundle : How he became the Troll King and why he came to serve Alissa dea. How the trolls live.

Braum : What tribe has he joined, if any, and what great tales have been told of him so far?

Anivia : How she will resist the corruption of the Blackfrost and evil schemes of Lissandra.

Trundle dosn't have any kind of lore that would make him worth of a standard champion. I mean, most champion nowadays are literally legends (i mean of course they are, it's league of LEGENDS), they did something great, or they are the subject of so many rumors across the land. But Trundle is on the same page as Nunu and Rammus, some plain character with nothing to brag about realy!!! I wish they could make him great on his own, without the help of Lissandra. Also, they should tie him to more champions like : Is he the young troll Braum saved? Is he related to the old troll that fooled Ornn? Is he the one who attacked the village in Ryze story?

The ability to get the faction specific summoner icons back for those who weren't around to get them (or for those who wanted to get the other factions)

I’ve never cared for the Frejlord. Their lores aren’t memorable, their champions strike me as rather bland, and there’s nothing about the war that triggers my interest. If the LU can fix those things, brilliant.

My main complaint would definitely be the distinct good guy/bad guy divide. It makes for some very 2D characters. Ashe should face some tough decisions and make mistakes (and hence won’t be perfectly “good” all the time), Sej should have something to make us sympathetic to her side (and maybe even get some irl supporters), and Liss... well, gimme a good reason why she wants the world covered in ice.

I'd say it is most likely that the bio updates will go to the different tribe leaders,as it makes sense to focus on the most important figures of each tribe first.

Alternatively they might focus on either the Avarosans(Ashe,Anivia Braum all could use a lore update) or the frost guard(Lissandra and Trundle),as Nunu has connections to both of them in his current lore.(really doubt the winters claw will get any focus,as the lores of Olaf and Udyr still seem to be canon and Volibear is high on the VGU list anyway).

And I think that they'll update Tryndameres bio,when the Aatrox VGU comes out,so I doubt that he'll get anything during the Freljord update.

I guess Nunu will get his vgu, voli will get his lore update and we will get a watcher as a champion.

I expect some greater lore explorations of the Freljord, to give us a reasonable date when the Three faction civil war started, and to update champion lore for those that desperately need it (like Volibear, Tryndamere, Nunu...)

I actually expect a smaller update than usual here since the Freljord is already pretty stable as far as how up to date it's lore is. It just needs some touch ups here and there. Ashe and Sejuani's factions are mostly fine, just with a little bit of clean up needed to include recently introduced details. Lissandra's faction will likely need some revisions though, at least enough to show that the Watchers were Void creatures.

The biggest changes will likely be to Anivia, Volibear, Lissandra, maybe Trundle, and, of course, Nunu.

My main thing is that we need more about the Frost-Guard tribe the other two groups have a good character conflict as the "Lets unite to be a real nation" and "freedom is more important than unity" makes a good dynamic. FG do have so interesting stuff about how Lissandra corrupting the tribe over the centuries, even basically taking over an girl's life and identity [girl was even given Liss' real name], honestly I'd love to learn if this "Lissandra" is gone under our Liss' control or at least a color story of her basically death as a free thinking conscious. [sg-janna]

but also I just want the Frost-Guards to feel on par in terms of game presence, the only FG we have is LIss herself, a kid who saw though liss' influence and ran away, and a troll. so yeah more Frost-Guard stuff would be would like to see. [cass-cry]
