The removal of the IoW was planned since the Start of the Summoners Rift VU

This just came to me, but I believe that the removal of the IoW was planned since the start of the SR Vu. Mostly because of the removal of those wizzards on the inhibitor and nexus, which were depicting the summoners. Im not 100% sure on any of this but its just a theory! Personally I like the lore changes btw.

The loW has been indicated of a planned removal since around Rengar's release. They hadn't mentioned the IoW in his lore, and after the Journal of Justice was discontinued the whole thing was kinda solidified.

The lore retcon has been in the works for a long, long time.

Old news, Kitae confirmed that they were getting rid of it in a Kotaku interview along time ago.

The map has a Warrior vs Mage theme in architecture based on Mage Lords vs Protectorate from Aatrox Lore.

I doubt that they only started with that. I've never seen those statues as a representation of the summoners(and wouldn't know why summoners would put those there),they were just random wizard-statues to me.
